I think that Feng Shui is helping our finances...am I nuts?

Hi Everyone, I am soooo excited! I set out on a mission to find a money plant today and I achieved my aim, and some..
Having read this thread for the last few days I decided I desperately needed a money plant. I thought 'Ho hum, everyone else has got one, so I gotta get one!' Now I am not often accused of following the masses, but when I get a 'need' for something there is no stopping me. I regularly use aromatherapy, incense, crystals and other select items for mystical and magickal purposes to enhance life, but the mysteries of the money tree have so far eluded me. So, I searched through the Yellow Pages on the web, found a list of phone numbers for local garden centres and started making phone calls. After 3 no-hopers I struck gold! - I won't be beaten LOL :rotfl:
My local Dobbies had a specialist on hand to guide me down the phone and he told me he had one small money plant in stock and a very special one that came in only yesterday. I told him I would be there within the hour and to put them aside for me please. He kindly obliged :T :T :T
I am now the proud owner of 2 money plants  I couldn't help myself, they are both beautiful and the very special one he told me about is so pretty and BIG! That was the shock, the sheer size of it! I brought them both home and my bemused husband had to search the house high and low to find some red ribbon. Luckily for me, he had some in his 'card making' box (he makes all my Birthday, Christmas, Special Occasion cards etc. so has a large stock of goodies in there...though I am banned from going in his box so cannot get my stickies on any of it) and I happily wrapped them around my money trees.
You gotta see these, so I am just away to take a photo with my camera and as soon as I have uploaded I shall edit this post to show you them.
Feeling well chuffed!!!Small one cost £3.99
Big One £19.99
Total Spend £ 23.98 :eek:This is the big one
This is the small (but not so small) Money Tree
Check out the size of the big one! It makes my bread maker shrink with shame LOL This money tree is massive and I think I got a good bargain for £19.99. What do you think?
ps. Forgot to add, that I pushed a 10 pence piece into each pot for luck. Now I just have to work out where to put them ~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -

You know, even if it's a lot of cobblers, I don't care. Daily life can be a bit of a grind. It's nice to put a little bit of magic in one's life. It doesn't cost a lot of money. It doesn't hurt anybody. It makes you feel quite positive and hopeful. What is wrong with that? As long as you're sensible about it!
And nobody can prove it doesn't work0 -
Well said Faith.
My son looks at me like I'm daft and shakes his head pityingly when he passes me. He'll not be so quick to ridicule when I wave my winning lottery ticket in his face. Oh yay! Oh yay!
(I am kidding about believing the lottery thing btw, I may have bought a money plant but I've not been converted yet, lol.)

Yep, I am with aliasojo and Faith on this one. So if it really honestly doesn't work and it is all a load of cobblers but you persevere anyway, you end up with a lovely clean and tidy home, no rubbish or clutter, a few unusual ornaments and possibly some furniture in funny directions. Nowhere does it promise better money luck, though it does claim to encourage it. If that is a bit of psychological babble because people subconciously modify their spending behaviour and end up with a better cash flow situation, thus proving the feng shui theory correct....then hasn't it worked???0

Yeah where's the harm much the same as the positive thinking thing, 'think good things and good things will come to you' that's as hard to belive isn't it but everthing is worth a try:D
Have a nice day everyone.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I'm not very used to the lottery but if I have two numbers and the bonus ball number then have I won a tenner, if so could this be Feng Shui:jWomen and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I've just received my book
A lot of it is just common sense.
Cover up your bedroom window at night with drapes to help you sleep. Use a hard chair in your office to make you alert, and a soft chair in the living room to help you relax. Plants put next to electrical appliances like tvs remove detrimental chi energy.
This book tells me to put my money tree in the West, NW, or N corner. Not the SE corner.
Now I have to do an experiment to see which corner works. :eek:0 -
OK I caved in and bought a money tree on Wednesday and no theres no sign of money (yet
) but I now have a new friend. His name is Fraser and I sit and chat away to him when the children are busy and DH is away.
I've finally cracked cos my mew mate is Fraser the money tree (and no I've no idea where the name fraser jumped into my head from but DH is nervous)

With regards to your clutter yes if it is in cupboards it is clutter ! Even your loft and garden shed. SO you have to spring clean everywhere ( i actually find it is theraputic spring clean and im hardly misshouseproud ).
Certain areas of your rooms/ house especailly should not have clutter. My firends money area was cluttered she cleared it out and was richer. However dont fall in to the trap of cleaning out your money area and bumging all the junk elsewhere eg family etc. But you should pay specal attention to areas in need ( money in my case - isnt it always ) .
I sold some of my cleared out junk on ebay but gave a lot to charity shops ( i think it is good karma to give things away ). You have to be ruthless though , and keep it up because its to start hoarding stuff again !
Someone on ebay was selling the book for £ 1.00 here is the reviews again at amazon
Clear your clutter feng shui . Like I said the good thing about this is you dont need a compass etc and it costs nothing. I forgot all about it till I read this board so of to the charity shop I go again.0 -

I am interested in getting one, do all ikea's sell them? Do places like homebase sell them, if so does anyone know how much they are?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
