Arranged an exchange for my K660i to a N95 today -

    750 mins
    150 texts
    50mms
    50 video calls
    £5.00 downloads

    £16 per month, i could have had the N95 8GB for £22.

Go for it. Thats the situation i was in. My N80 which i have had for about 3 years or so was playing up so needed a new phone too. I had the £5 a month deal (i have posted previously but i realise its a pain sometimes to trawl through) which came to an end in the last couple of weeks so i phoned to see what i could get as i didnt want it going back up to £30 a month as it used to be.

I got offered the £5 a month deal again but not only that a free Nokia 6500 (which i took for my partners contract) or for £30 one off payment a Nokia 8gb Black N95. I was soooo pleased. So still paying £5 a month for 300 minutes, 150 texts, 25 video minutes, 25 multimedia messages and £5 free downloads. Its daft really but im not complaining.

How much is your usual monthly bill (apart from the £5 that they charge you ofcourse)? On average?

Well with RAF I haven't paid a bill for months but I only go over the £5 if I have to phone an 0845 number rarely.

Well, unfortunately i had been going over my text allowance and so my last bill before this upgrade was actually about £35. For the last 3 or 4 months i had an add on so i got an extra 200 texts for £10 making my bill £15 a month and my texts total 350. I think this maybe helped my upgrade options.

Dont accept whatever you are offered first unless its a cracking deal. I was offered the 6500 for free to start with or the N95 silver for £85 or the black N95 8gb for £140. Within less than a week i was then offered the N95 silver for free or the N95 black 8gb for £30.

I was very very pleased though as i only rang up hoping to get the £5 a month contract renewed instead of it reverting back to £30 a month like i was told it would at the end of my 12 month contract. To then be told we could have new phones for free too (have two contracts the same) was a great bonus as we didnt get offered that last year, just to keep the sim.
