3 Retention Deals

firstly did you ring up to cancel or did you say to them 'what offers have you got ?'
If you went for the second , which is how i read your post, then you were told correctly.
You only seem to be offered anything better if you are cancelling, so ring back and say 'when is the earlist date i can leave you, im after a better price tariff than you can give me' You may not be offered anything and will go through the cancellation process, you should get a call before your notice time is up with an offer. If you dont just sign back up with them via quidco. you will probably be better off anyway !!

What if you were asking for a PAC? as that effectively means you're looking at leaving (you have 30 days to use the PAC, if not, the contract continues).0 -
Hi MSE'rs, one of my first few posts so please hit the thanks if it helps:
Here's a quick breakdown of my three retention findings this month:
I was on 6280 with 300 xnet mins, 1000 txts, 50 video mins, 50 mms and £5 free downloadings (gotta get those ringdings!) for £15 a month.
Called and asked to cancel and go onto PAYG. refused offer of upgrade as they only offer website tariffs on that call.
Phone due to turn PAYG on 29th of May
No calls in 1st week.
2nd and 3rd week, start getting calls still with website tariffs. I told them i can get mix and match 1100 with 6500 slide for £20 a month minus £62.50 quico and £30 refer a friend = £14.87 a month. Kept getting offers of less mins for less money, turned them down.
start of week 4 - a few calls, always offers of £10 a month for life. 500 mins, 100 txts, or 300 mins, 300 txts both deals with free 6500 slide. Politely turned them down as not enough mins/txts. No n95's available on £10 deals. i asked them many times.
2 days before payg - call with £10 deal, again i politely refused, guy puts me on hold and i get a supervisor. I tell her that the offer isn't enough minutes, after a bit of conversation and her checking the system, i get told i can stay on my current tariff:
300 xnet mins, 1000 txts, 50 video mins, 50 mms and £5 free downloadings.
£14 with 6500 slide or £18 with refurb n95, i told her i'd accept if the n95 was brand new and she said ok, you can have new one.
note - it's the standard n95, not the 8gb, but the memory cards are pretty cheap.
bit gutted my monthly spend has gone up from £15 to £18, but if the n95 lives up to the reviews, it'll be worth it!
hope this helps you bargain hunters!
lots of money saving love,

hello, ive been offered the following for my current contract renewal
750 mins
150 texts
50mms
50 video calls
£5.00 downloads
I cancelled a few weeks ago asked for the PAC code, as if it all doesnt go to plan i would start a new contract with 3 anyway.
The best deals ive been offered are as follows all 18 month contracts
Sony k660 £10
Nokia 6500 £14
Sony 850k £14
Sony 910 £14
Nokia N95 Silver £16
Nokia N95 Black £20
I prefer 12 month contracts and never normally do 18 month ones.
Not sure which phone to go for, I would like a "good" phone can anyone recommend?0 -

Hello. Our existing contracts end 7th July I have organised an upgrade as offered by three last night a new contract/upgrade for my wife. And myself. It is the following .Mix and Match 300. 300 minutes/texts plus 300 3 to 3 minutes@ £15 per month. Both contracts to have the Sony Ericsson K660i phone. And to keep our existing numbers!!!!
When investigating the upgrade situation I was informed that the K660i was not available normally but as a "special customer" we would be given them free. I notice in the "3" Buyers guide that this is in fact untrue and is available to all. It would appear that my wife and I are not getting any thing advantageous for being existing customers. In fact better offers are available to new customers. Also for nearly a year their billing dept mucked up our account by trying to charge double!
Any comments/info appreciated also proper contact details for the big cheese of three not CS.
Thank you

I'm currently on that tariff, when I signed up I got it for £17.50 (half price), great to know they are offering reduced tariffs on it, was worried I would have to go for tariffs with less minutes.
Personally I always go for the cheapest, sell the handset and then use the money and some more of my own to buy the handset that I want. I think you may be able to haggle the price a little less, You can get the 6500 classic/slide for around £15 as a new customer on the M&M 1100 tariff, (if you include quidco and RAF). If you qouted that they budge some more?SLC: £13000+
Quidco: £131.24 (paid) + £0 (validated) = £131.24
Valued Opinions: £75 (paid) + £52.30 (received) + £4.50 (pending) = £131.80
StudentPanel: £250 -

I called 3 for the second time to see if they had any offers for me. I do have just under 2 months to go yet... I know that haggling tactics work better in the last month, but I'm away travelling when that is - so thought I'd take my chances!
Anyway, they're not budging on any tactics employed by me. Only offering what's on website or keep my current tariff at same price (£26.25 for Tmobile Flext equivalent £180 worth allowance) for 18 months.
I wanted Nokia N95 8GB so that I could sell it on ebaybut they were only willing to give me the normal version, or LG viewty (basically phones with value of around £250 rrp on the market). The guy basically said my custom is not worth a £400 phone (i.e. the nokia) to 3, not in so many words, but effectively that's what he said. I have been with 3 for 5 years!
I'm wondering if they'll buy the Quidco + RAF tactics??0 -
What does this mean?

Quidco = A website where if you purchase through them, you can gain cash back.
RAF = Refer a friend. If you refer someone to three and they take out an 18 month contract they give you £30 each.
The poster is thinking that they could get a cheaper deal with Three directly ( if he states that these offers are available to him and that they take these discounts into consideration).0
