Is it possible to convert from contract to payg and then port my existing number to a new three contract for the purpose of quidco and raf etc..?

my contract is expired and just running from month to month at the moment.

3ust over a month before my contract was to expire I phoned up and asked for a deal, I specifically asked for a deal that didn't involve upgrading my phone, I just wanted the cheapest deal possible !, anyway, I mentioned I was given a really good last year without a phone upgrade, two different operators said "we don't do those deals anymore" so I just said "fine, please accept this call as my 30 days notice and turn the contract into a PAYG" as I said before, it was due to go to PAYG on 6th April, but I got the call 2 days ago and thought it was a brilliant offer !!! £5 for life.

So my advice is to hold out and wait for the call, they won't offer it to you until just before the contract ends.

Not that I doubt you but from what i can remember of signing up to 3 the raf is just a mobile number you enter upon registration and not a code etc.


it certainly tracked when i did it !!

ok, I have another contract due to expire soon, phoned up last week and gave 30 days notice to terminate the contract and turn it into a PAYG, TODAY I got a call from 3 giving me some offers

500 mins + 100 texts for £10 - I refused and said I would only accept the offer I had received on Monday of 500 mins & 100 texts at £5 for life, she came back with 2 more offers.

500 mins + 100 texts with an upgrade for £10 - refused

then I got the upgrade with a the offer of the current price plan of talk and text 400 mis and 250 texts, turned it down and told them £5 a month or nothing.

I wait another call back nearer the time (26th April) if not, well hey ho

1st offer today involved keeping same handset, 2nd & 3rd offer were for handset upgrades and talktime packages for £10. kept telling them I would only accept the £5 offer I had for my other contract.

I think it will come closer to the 26th

Fingers crossed you get a good deal, do you want an upgrade deal? or would you just prefer a really good talk time offer?

the contract ending is the one i had last year(practically free!)so i gave it to my daughter.She only got a contract cos it was free.However the phone is now a bit battered and so a new one would be great which will make the ideal birthday pressie in may.She is only 11.If i end up cancelling the deal with 3 i will still have to fork out for a payg phone.

I requested a PAC code from 3 on last Saturday which after a long conversation they have provided me. Yesterday they called me with an offer of 250 mins and 100 text with an SE handset. I rejected it.

you never gave any details, i.e. how much? period of new contract etc etc
