Had ANOTHER call today, funny thing was that they offered exactly the same deal as yesterday, 500 mins 100 texts and a 6500 slider phone for £10 a month, told them that I wanted it for £5 (the same as the deal they gave me on monday for another contract that was ending)

Phone is worth about £150 on ebay so could be a good deal of around £30 over 18 months (unless you got the £5 offer including the 6500 as well?).

Very true, however, O have 4 contracts with 3 mobile already so Im not desperate, just want to pass on the £5 deals for my kids to use, so at the end of day I can live without the £5 deal, can't be arsed with selling on ebay, I also find that I blow the money if I sell the phone, but then i'm left with another montly outgoing.

But yes, not a bad deal
  • Don't know if this is a good deal (to be honest, it all goes a bit above my head).

I barely use the phone and my contract with Carphone Warehouse/o2 was coming to an end.

I accepted an offer of £5 per month, no phone, no cashback etc - 275 minutes and 250 texts for 24 months.

    Was I robbed? lol

Can I just ask?, was your deal offer from 02 ?, if so you're on the thread, if it was from 3mobile then I would say good deal.

I phoned Carphone warehouse - it's through them and I keep my phone number (it's o2 connection) - good deal?

posted the following (see bold text below) on another thread but haven't had any replies, here's hoping for a better response in this thread. What i want to know is how come i'm not being offered the £5 or £10 per month deals. i'm about to come off an 18 month contract where i've been paying £15/month (it was actually a £30/month contract but was half price for 18 months).

Called again today and again no luck with a £5 or £10 deals. Basically they say my options are:

    1. Stay on the same contract and pay £20/month + new phone
    2. go onto the £15/month mix and match contract + new phone

Anything else i can try before i finally leave 3 (or go onto the £15 mix and match)??

my contract runs out at the end of April. I've requested the PAC code from 3, which i've received by txt. I was expecting them to call after a few days, where we'd then go thru the procedure of "why are you leaving, you can stay for £15, etc, etc" followed by another call whereby they would offer £5 per month 500mins 100 texts plus nokia 6288 (this is what happened when my dads contract finished around xmas).

However, the £5/month call never arrived!! I called them again today saying that i was def going to leave. Basically they said they are sorry to hear that, but there was no way they could offer a £5/month or even £10/month deal.

Could it be that these low cost deals really have come to an end?? I really did try to get the best deal possible, was on the phone to 3 for over 30mins but they wouldn't budge!!

If you read this thread you will see they have become more rare - maybe depends upon your spend etc

Personally I wouldn't be calling them !!, the best deals come when they call you.

I would also say that you should be looking for a deal elsewhere, or why not try the mix and match 1100 for £20 a month, you can also get £62.50 through quidco + £30 via refer a friend = £!4.86 a month- fantastic value for money !!!, on top of this you can get £20 worth of free accessories with the voucher + if you really don't need the phone you can sell it on flea bay for around £140 and this will mean you end up getting the 18 month period for £7 a month!!!!!!!

Give up chasing 3, if the deal does then come along, then take it and give the £5 deal to one of your kids.
