  • a refurb phone is a refurbished phone that 'according to three' is brand new. They say it is a phone that has been sent back to them within the trial period because the customer did not like it. It may have had small fault which has been fixed and the product you receive should be as good as a new one with the same guarantee.
The deal is average, standard. You should really have a new phone for that though. you have a choice now on whether to take it or to give notice/request pac. However on website at the moment 1100min/text is £20 but do it right and you could get 60 through refer a friend and also cash from quidco and that over 18mts would on average make it cheaper with a wider choice of phones.
If you have any gambling genes in you whatsoever you should give notice and hope for the 5 or 10 a month call.

I got 3 calls from 3, missed 2 of them as they called me at work, on the 3rd call the guy offered me the same deal as was offered by the upgrades team. I said no, thank you, will consider. I have a week to go and if they do not offer me anything else then its going to be goodbye 3.

The offers they are giving me are exactly the same as those available to new customers so no joy.

Spikey-I got that deal with 3 18 months ago-with 2000 texts and 600 mins for the first threee months. I got a refurb phone too, and it's still working fine: I had no trouble with it.
I just renewed my contract. Firstly I was offered a £21 a month contract, which I refused flat out-pointing out I wouldn't be paying more for the contract than I was already! After 3 different phone calls I was given 1000 texts and 300 mins for £15 a month plus a new phone, which I'm fairly happy with. I think I could have haggled it down, but I wanted to get it sorted out. Certainly not the best deal on here, but better than anything I'd get in store, I think.

Good luck, Spikey-let me know how you get on!!

Are u sure? I thought that you can only get quidco cashback or refer a friend. It certainly happens when applying for A&L account.

  • Hi,
I've been on contract since July 2007 and wanted a new phone - im on an 18 month contract with 3 on the Text 1000 tariff (£20pm) but regularaly spend around £40 per month.
If i phone up 3 are they likely to give me any reduction on a new phone? I've currently got the Nokia E65. I obviously cant cancel the contract yet so wanted a new phone whilst remaining on that contract.

    Yours, Mark

They might do-it's well worth asking before you go out and buy a new one. They do give you a new phone at 15 months if you're on an 18 month contract (Or so I was told by their customer services last night.) and whilst I know you're nowhere near that yet, it may be worth bearing in mind for the future ;)
