  • hello dearies, could someone suggest me who to contact to ask for one of these deals:confused: . and when you say 3 retention deals do you mean 3 contact centre. after reading the posts above i called 333 and mentioned these posts they simply refused to accept it. my contract is coming to an end on 25/02/08 and they just offered me only one offer n73 with 300mnts for 18 monts at £15.00 per month. i would be greatful if someone can pass me RETENTION's contact number please before my contract runs out. thanks in advance.

Unfortunately you cannot contact them or ask to be put through the retention department. It is a special department for special offers. The only way of talking to them is if they phone you.

... they don't work weekends apparently (missed a call from I assume them last week - phoned back yesterday, this department only works 12-9 Monday to Friday).

    Guys,

as I posted earlier, the menu options for getting through to the retentions dept. have changed recently. Now, the menu options you need are:-

    1,1,3,4,3.

This is described as "if you're thinking of leaving us, press 3".

This will start the ball rolling, as this is the dept. you need to give your notice to anyway. They usually offer you something to stay, but if you keep refusing, then this is when you start getting callbacks. This will eventually be from the "right" team for the best offers.....just remember they DON'T work 24-7 in this dept. :D

I have been with 3 for just over 2 years. I was on talk and text 500 I think it was (500mins and 100 Texts). I started off on an 12month contract and missed canceling at the end of the 12 months and then phoned up to cancel it for the end of month 13, and was offered a deal which with various months half price line rental, a hefty credit on my account etc. with no new handset - worked out at £60 for the year (£5/month).

I phoned them up to cancel my phone and see what they would offer me this time, and was offered the same deal and a nokia 61xx or 62xx I cant remember which @£30 a month – a much worse deal than was on there website! I pay by direct debit, I have never not paid them on time and I hardly ever use all the included mins – so I got my pac code.

This was on the 10th of Feb (a Sunday) I haven’t heard from them since, how long does it take them to call you if they do?

Was calling on Sunday a bad idea as the retention department don’t seem work 24x7?

Is it worth calling them up and seeing if they will match any deals in this thread?

I suspect not, didn't work for me. They pretty much said if you're not happy with £15 Texter or Talker packages, you can leave because that's the best you're getting.

They probably want people who go over their inclusive allowance.

I've alreayd let one PAC code run out and now have a second so I'm paying a fortune at the mo. Must get my skates on and get something else sorted.

I have been told by several members of the retentions department that the offers they can give are decided by the computer, based on your monthly usage. If you don't use your phone enough to trigger an offer, you don't get one. This is why my wife got one but I didn't.

At the end of the day £15/month is still way better than I was paying last year :)

I would have thought you either wanted customers who went way over their usage allowance, or who got nowhere near it, in which case they are paying for a service they wont use which should equal a happy company.
