Why not just stick with 3 on Sim only or compare your usage costs against their 1-2-3 PAYG offering?

Would do if they offered some extra minutes on the sim only deal, can get more minutes from Tesco for a similar price.......normally found over the years that retention depts offer good deals to keep you, not three on their sim only deals it appears.....

  • Just rang to cancel, told them what I was being offered elsewhere and was surprised when the nice man said he could match the deal ... for £13 more each month! Refused his kind offer as that would cost me an extra £300 over the course of the contract, only for him to insist that my alternative offer was a con, there would be lots of impossible strings attached (his words). Thanked him for his concern but assured him I was quite capable of reading a contract.

    Bye bye Three!

Been with three for a year on Sim only, asked for our pac's today and had 45 mins of hard sell trying to sell us a lg optimus 24 month contract for £7 per month, that was all that was on offer in terms of retention deals, they could not seem to grasp that we did not want a 24 month contract or a new phone, so it looks like we are heading for sim only with Tesco or giff gaff

they have just rung again and offered a nokia 520 this time instead of LG optimus. However they cannot seem to grasp no matter how many times they are told...... I do not want a 24 month contract or need a new phone...

  • Hard work!

3 calls and still no better deal for upgrading!

Called first thing this morning and told them that the deals showing on the upgrade part of my account are exactly the same as the deals showing for anyone! They said yes that is right, they are the best deals we can do for anyone.

Then called a local Three shop and asked them about upgrading, they said exactly the same! When I said OK thanks for your help I'll be cancelling my contract they replied "OK that's fine".

Just called retentions back and they guy gave a big long speech on how the prices are set low and transparent for all customers to take advantage of. He went on to say we are not going to offer a deal for £110 if we can do it for £100, other providers may do that with the hope that some just buy it for £110 but if you phone they let you have it for £100 to let you think you are getting a good deal, when in fact you are getting it for what they want you to have it at! he then said again "With three we are fully transparent of the true costs of our phones and feel everyone should be offered the same good deals".

The only thing he would do is if I took out a new contract at full price, he'd let me have a sim only deal running along side it for my wife, that would be their "Essential Internet SIM 200 12 months. for £6.90" but make it a 30 day contract rather than a 12 month one.

To be fair I could see where he was coming from and after looking around their prices and what you get, they are one of the if not the lowest already!

The other thing he threw in was the fact that when they roll out their 4G in the next few months, they are the only company that will not be charging their customers any additional costs for it!

    Hmmm lot to think about.

Took the plunge and have jumped ship to Tesco, sim only on O2 network.....£7.50 500mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data, per month on monthly contract, took 2 contracts so chose extra 150 mins .....( in store only)

Yes, do this! It is easy, just log in to My3 and look at your billing history. My usage for the last 6 months (on sim300 £10pm) : total £107 (difference mainly for going over call allowance once).

Worked out what I would have paid from my history each month if I had been on Three PAYG 321: total £26. £81 less!

If you call 333 be very clear that you want to switch. Immediately tell them you are not interested in a better contract and you just want to switch to PAYG immediately. (If you don't do this, they go on to a contract hardsell script that lasts about 40mins :()

Thats what I plan to do when my contract is up for renewal early next year. I have been tracking my costs and on the 1-2-3 deal I would be paying buttons per month compared to what I am now.

Anybody received any decent retention offers lately? I'm after SIM only.

I was offered the £15 One Plan on a 30-day contract (as opposed to 12 months) on my cancellation call. I politely declined.

The next best offers I can find are:
    Virgin Mobile 3G - 100mins, Ultd. Data (30 day) - £5pm (plus 15% NUS discount) = £4.25pm [CALL DIRECT FOR THIS]
    Virgin Mobile 3G - Ultd. Mins, texts & data (30 day) - £15pm (plus 15% NUS discount) = £12.75pm
    Vodafone 4G - Ultd. Mins, texts, 6gb data (12mnth) - £26pm (£136 TCB plus 20% employee discount) = £11.73pm effective cost

I understand these are quite specific to myself, but they may help someone. Any other deals floating?

Are they still doing the Lumia 520 as a 'last chance' retention offer after you have asked for your PAC? If so, is it £11 or £7 a month?
