3 Retention Deals

They usually want you to do a deal there and then (so they get their commission) rather than you calling back. The Samsung Galaxy S2 costs £499.99, so if you get it for £17pm you're only paying £408 for it over two years with all the minutes, texts and internet thrown in so that would be a superb deal, good luck!

When do people think the Galaxy S2 is going to come down on price? I want to get one when my contract is up for renewal which will be in October. Would £15 p/m sound reasonable then?

It is £30-a-month on the website at the moment, so I can't see them letting you have it for £15 in a couple of month's time. £20 maybe, if you're lucky and threaten to leave.

The more I think about it, the more I think they were trying to fob me off with galaxy mini and not the s2 for £17 a month....

My contract is almost up so I phoned 3 today. The offers from the Retention Team were more expensive than on line offers.
I opted for keeping my current phone which is on Talk/Text 900 with 2GB internet and 300 3 to 3 minutes which they have increased to 5000 3 to 3 minutes. Have been paying £18 p/m for this but now reduced to £14 p/m. There's a 14 day cooling off period and the contract is for 12 months with an upgrade possible within that period although I don't exactly know how that will work, the deal will be sent out in writing so maybe that will explain what an upgrade would involve.

I would cool off if I were you, as that sounds a terrible deal.

I cancelled my £13 Talk/Text 900 with the Samsung Galaxy Mini to wait for a better deal.

A few months ago I got a T-Mobile contract with 600 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB internet (unlimited surfing) for £7.50-a-month and that's the sort of deal I will snap up again when it resurfaces.

I don't use all of my monthly minutes, hardly ever use the internet via the phone so would as well going for this deal which available to all customers and includes a phone All for an extra £1 per month

Thanks again.
I have never looked at Talkmobile, thanks for bringing them to my attention, their deals seem very competitive.
I'm going to phone 3 tomorrow and tell them to cancel today's offer/deal. As they are not sending me a new phone there shouldn't be a problem.
If 3 offer something that includes a decent phone for minimum price then they might just keep my business, if not they give me my PAC code.
Thanks for helping me change my mind by pointing out that I wasnt being offered a good deal from 3.
