I am looking for the same offer ie 5 per month for 500mins and 100 texts. How did you manage this offer? did you say you were terminating the contract and sit tight till they called you with this offer?

I was paying £30.00 a month for 750 mins and 150 texts - 12 month contract. First 3 months with double mins and texts. Rang upto cancel and now got the same for £10.00 a month - no upgrade.0

Hehehehehehe
I used my normal technique of calling them asking to cancel and make my account a pay as you go account, and then they call me and give me an offer....
Last time i got 11 months free which made it around £3 a month of 500 mins 100 txt and 12 month contract without a phone.....
Now things have changed they give it straight on the bill i got £3 a month 500 mins 100 txt ....12 month they give me no phone 18 month they offered a 6288 which is !!!!!! so i pushed for the k770i ...and got it .....
Do as i did cancel, ask it to be a pay as you go and then wait 2 days for a call back .....works every time
Edit 3 time 18 = 54 .....K770i's avarage selling price on ebay 100 quid ....profit 46 quid0 -
About a week before Christmas I got a great deal from three. They gave me talk n text 600 for £5/month for life.
Although I went through this thread and followed every piece of advice, I nearly ended up with no better than the web prices.
A month previous, I rang three and said the magic words "I'm thinking of leaving". They offered me a £3 discount (£15 instead of £18) on the web prices, and I said "No thanks" and took my PAC code.
I then waited patiently, expecting the phone to ring 2 days before the PAC code expired. The call never came, so I phoned them in defeat to try and get the discount they offered me in the first place. I was told that this was no longer on offer, and probably wouldn't be again any time soon. I rang back a few times and got the same answer.
In a last ditched attempt I asked to talk to the assistant that had offered me the discount. I couldn't remember his name, but insisted that it must be on their logs. Sure enough it was and they put me through, here's a summary of how the call went:
Me: You remember around a month ago you offered me a £3 discount?
Him: Yes.
Me: Well, I would like to take that offer if it is still available.
Him: Actually, I have a better deal for you. A Nokia 6288 with 500 mins and 100 texts for £5 per month.
Me: That sounds good but can I have a different handset?
Him: No, just the 6288.
Me: Ok, and can I have this deal for life?
Him: Yes.
Me: I'll take it.
This is a fine example of how illogical call centre negotiating can be. This deal was not supposed to exist and then they effectively threw away the extra £10/month that I was prepared to give them. Not that I'm complaining or anything.:D :T
Later I rang back and found out that I will not get anymore handset upgrades for £5 (that would have been a miracle), but at that price I can buy my own off eBay.
I'm particularly pleased that I got the deal for life, because phoning three every 12 months can end up being a real chore. This way it is much more simple.
My flatmate spoke to the same guy a few days later and got the same tariff for £10/month with a Sony Erikson k800i.0 -
crazytim whos this guy ? PM me please - im out of contract with 3 & im getting offered the standard web deals !
i want £5 no handset - 6288 is not upto spec for me - I have a N95there is no mobile out there to match it - everything else is a DOWNgrade
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Hi all.
I am currently in a similar position. Contracted ended in November (well Oct really - but wanted to ensure my final cashback went through). I only want 12month contracts. Currently on:
12 months @ £35
400mins + 250 txts
£5 downloads "free"
25 mms
So I called to ask about a better deal. Was offered £25 per month which was not good enough after seeing people on here pay just £5. Asked for my PAC which should arrive the next day - it didn't. I called up a week later to ask for my PAC again and see what other deals they could offer. It had now gone down to "approx???" £16 a month with a new phone. I don't want a new phone (have SE K800) but it does have an error that needs repairing. Anyway I declined this offer as again I was not prepared to pay this when so many others are getting either £5 or £10 a month! I'd rather leave and go through another cashback. The thing is I like 3. So I may be in an area of having to put up with it
3 have made no efforts to call em and try and sweeten me with a 'don't leave us deal'. I don't know if to hold out or not?
I'd happily pay the £10 a month contract. It's silly how it works for some and not others.:o
Any advice is welcomed!"The future needs a big kiss"0 -
Hi guys,
My 3 contract is just about to expire. Last year they offered me 10 months free on a 12 month contract with a Ericsson k800i, 400 minutes and 250 texts. All I had to pay was 2 months at £35 which seemed a pretty good deal.
Now they wont offer a renewel without on just the sim without a handset and the best offer they've come up with is 500 mins and 100 texts with a new handset pretty much the same as the one I have for £20 per month for 12 months.
Have any of you renewed your deal with 3 in the past few months? If so what deal did they offer you or did you find a better deal with another network?
Please help!

I got a 3 retentions deal last year - 100 mins, 100 texts for 10.5 months free (credit on bill/1/2 price line rental), £10 in month 11, £20 in final month. I am in my 11th month - do they have repeat retentions please? There are some cracking deals on at the moment (on other networks/retailers) and if they aren't likely to offer something for next to nothing again (shame not to), I may as well move now.
Many thanks
