3 Retention Deals

I've just been sat here trying to work out how long I have been with three. I think is around 5 years !

I recently chose the iphone 3gs (dont like the iphone 4) on a new contract as they said it wasnt possible to upgrade to the iphone on my existing contract which was due to finish a month later. So instead when I got home with my lovelyy new shiny iphone I called three and asked that my old phone number be converted to a PAYG at the end of the contract. Approx 2 weeks later I got a call asking me if I would like to keep that number on contract - deal as follows:
Nokia E63 (personally dont like it but my hubby has one and loves it)
500 mix and match
300 free 3 to 3
Comet gift voucher 180.00
just 8.00 per month
18 month contract

Hard to beat - my daughter wants my old Samsung Tocco for her birthday as it is immaculate (its also pink so that may have something to do with it !) and I am giving her this contract as a surprise !

I may keep the E63 as a spare or I may sell it - havent decided yet.

I got my hubby his E63 on an 18 month contract just a few months ago - that deal is:

3000 free 3 to 3
14.00 per month which we thought was brilliant but the one for 8 a month blew that one 'out of the water' !!!!

Those are good deals, mind you the 2 contracts I have with 3 are for life my wifes contract is very similar with 750 minutes, 150 txts?, 50 photo message, 50 video minutes for the grand sum of £8 and its for life does not expire!! However I was unlucky and I got 250 minutes and 50 txts for £5 a month for life about 18 months ago.

I want the Galaxy S and if 3 don't offer me a decent deal on this it will be goodbye 3 and hello t-mobile!!

Has anyone had one of these fantastic deals with any of the top of the range phones yet ?? It looks like you can get a great deal as long as you dont want an iphone or galaxy !! All the phones we have been offered with the deals have been out for quite a while so arent considered to be top of the range !! Are they using the deals to get rid of old stock (not that I mind) before removing these phones ?

have rang 3 to find out when my contract runs out, they told me December but i can get an upgrade at the end of august. i currently pay £15 for 750 mins, 150 txts, £5 download, 50 video/foto messages 50 video minutes and have an LG viewty lite. Can anyone recommend a new deal and fone to ask for?

I got the following for my daughter today:

Blackberry Bold 9700 on Internet Texter 500 tariff -
500 mins
5000 texts
5000 3-3 mins
1G data
Unlimited Skype, MSN and other stuff that probably won't get used.

Free phone, £22/month. Same deal on the website is £79 for the phone and £25/month.

I thought this was OK but not earth shattering.

it's been about 10 days since 3 gave me the PAC code and still no call from retentions? I am itching to get the Galaxy S!!

I don't think they call back any more. If you want the best deal, call within the last 30 days of your contract and select the ' I want to leave 3' option rather than the 'I want an upgrade'. That team has more authority to do deals.

Asking for the PAC code doesn't achieve much as its an old trick that they are wise to now.

maybe you are right...I have been out of contract about 9 months because I am on the £5 a month life time contract and I have previously asked for PAC code and didn't leave so they think I am bluffing...maybe it's worth ringing them one last time before I order the Galaxy!!!

Just got off the phone from 3...after a 45 minute conversation he could still only do £27 a month with the Galaxy S but I can get £25 a month with t-mobile from online retailers but he tried to tell me that the the wildfire was a better phone than the SGS and that SGS has an old operating system on it!!:mad:
