3 Retention Deals

No 3 are unlikely to offer anything decent unless you are spending more than your allowance and making them money. I was on £5 a month deal and wanted the SGS and all I asked was to price match T-mobile which was £25 a month for 18 months but they wouldn't do it...even though got offered a 16GB version of the SGS which I am not too bothered about whether it is 8 or 16GB and in the end I am moving my number to t-mob...been with 3 for about 4-5 years so try but don't expect too much like the old daysi am on the life discount with Three 500 Voice/text etc for £5 per month. Plus i pay £5 extra pm for Internet max.
i renewed last week and got a new Sony Ericsson T715 posted. i dont like this phone.
I phoned Three back and asked for the Nokia 5230 but they want £50!!
any views welcome if can haggles for better phone, preferably at lower cost.0 -
Hi guys
Missus is on 1100 Mix and Match but never uses many minutes.
She quite fancies the X10 Mini - more looks than features.
Has anyone been given a decent retention deal on this one?
She asked for PAC code today (was told within 2 days - is this right?) and the best deal they offered was the one on their website for £20 a month on the 500 minute tariff - hmmm not loyalty bonus their then.
Cheers

They'll prob phone soon... but always have the info of what they have on website at hand. Never give up while your talking to them as you can always improve on whats offered and they may offer you something just to get you off the phone. Often they will pass you to another operator or manager who may have different targets to meet and offer you something better. If you get passed to another person, start again don't compromise with what had been offered by the previous person.

well I tried and tried for a Galaxy S for a £25 a month which is the same as what I can get on t-mobile but the best they could do was for £27 a month with only 500MB internet a month. So now I am looking at porting my number to t-mobile after a long time with 3.
What was the Upfront cost for the Samsung Galaxy S with T-Mobile and where did you see it?
The cheapest upfront cost in T-Mobile for the £25 a month is £117
(18Months, 1GbNet (fair-use limit) 500 txts, 900 mins)
But on Three the same phone is only £49 upfront for £30 a month.
(24Months, 1Gb net, 5000txts, 500 any network mins)
I'm going to call Three in the morning and see if I can get them to drop the Upfront cost a bit, If yes it will be a done deal! I use txt a lot and about 600Mb of mobile internet a month, so this would be a good deal for me.
(I can get £65 trade in for my current mobile "E63".) ^_^Laters

I purchased from buy mobiles phones . net and the upfront cost at the time was 29.99 but I believe since then it has gone up to 59.99 for the 18 month contract for £25/month or free on the 24 month contract.
To be honest I am glad I didn't go for the 3 upgrade option as now I have a unlocked handset without 3's software as I have read some people have had some issues with lagging/speed on the handset. My handset came direct from Samsung with the lastest firmware so I havent had any major issues.
3 offered me the 16GB version for £27 a month however they were only giving me 500MB/month whereas with T-mobile I have 3GB. I had some issues with the internet speed and first time in ages I actually spoke to sensible people on customer support from a mobile provider unlike 3, although I never had major issue with them the 3's customer service has a lot to be desired!
With the t-mobile you maybe be able to get web n walk and then unlimited txts as the flexible booster but it depends whether you go to a retailer or direct to T-mobile.What was the Upfront cost for the Samsung Galaxy S with T-Mobile and where did you see it?

anyone having much luck or not getting 18 month contracts rather than 24 month on renewing contract? My wife got offered a decent 18 month deal with the vodafone new customer number, three were willing to slightly better what was included in the deal but refused to do 18 months rather than 24 months. She's still got about 5 weeks left on contract so will be going through whole giving 30 day notice, requesting pac code etc to see if they play ball0

Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) is a unique identifier used by some mobile and fixed-line telephone network providers to facilitate mobile number.0 -
After many talks with 3 retentions, I was offered this on a sim only 12 month contract:
200 x-net minutes, 100 texts, 50 mms, 25 video minutes, £5 downloads (Basically, my current Video Talk Text 350 contract) plus 2gb internet and 5000 3 to 3 calls. I thought that was good for a £5 (I was paying £10 for the same thing without 3 to 3 calls) so I agreed to that.
The same operator then phoned me back immediately and said he could give me a free phone too - a Nokia 5230. Thanks I said.
I was quite pleased with that.0
