I'm out of contract and am currently paying £5 per month with loyalty discount. I have been offered:
A free Iphone 3gs 8gb free on a £25 per month contract for 36 (36!!) months.
A free HTC Desire, 300 texts/minutes, 500mb data 300 3-3 for £25 p/m for 18 months or £22 p/m on a 24 month contract.wer
I didn't think these were that generous, so I'll wait a bit longer.0 -

36 months........ OMG!
I fancy the Desire but to be honest i'd need 1000 min/texts p/m and i think double the data, an 18 month contract seems good, funny only 4-5 years ago we were all on 12 month contracts.
Keep in touch and tells us if you get a better offer.
How often do they ring you when you out of contract? or do they just forget about you?0 -

Three haven't phoned me once since I have been out of contract - I had to phone them. I'm still on a 12 month contract and would have thought they would have been keen to sign me up for a longer deal.0 -
ok been with three 5 years.
2 mobile contracts and mobile broadband contract
all are now out of contract, retntion deals seem very thin (this iss from calling 333) im aware 3 have a uk retentions dept that ring you when your geting into the final weeks and days, these are the only people who can go out of there way to keep you, as i have had calls from these people in the past and deals have been very good.
back to now:
5 gig of broadband - free new 7.2meg dongle - £7.50 per month - which im happy with and have took new contract with them
now the 2 mobile phone contracts are a different matter, 3 have just (on 333) tried to give me a special deal, which is basically 300 anytiumes 5000 texts. 5000 mins 3to3 calls. he told me this was a special deal to keep me, what he did not know was i was on 3s web site and could see this deal was not a special one as any new cusatomer can have it!, he refused or was unable to give me anything more mins wise or lower price wise, with a nokia 5230 - like i say nothing specal about this as every tom !!!!!! and harry can have - i have requested my puk code for a number transfer and give notice to cancel the contract - hoping this will nudge "3s specail retentions" to ring me, this underhand operator told me to check the spec of the nokia on google as the 3 site was running "extremly slow" this was said to me so that i would not go on to 3s site to see for my self that the deal he was offering me was nothing specail and was a standard deal - disgusting treatment.
other mobile contract, a slightly better deal on this but still not to mu liking here we go:
samsung wave (i do not like the touch screen as its really hard and slow for me to type txts due to my big fumbly fingers lol.
500 mins any network
5000 texts
5000 3 to 3 mins
1 gig internet
all the above for £20 per month - £10 less then a new customer can get
but the phone is no use to me despite it been a expensive phone (going off ebay prices for people selling there new contract phones)
after nearly 5 years these deals are not very good in my mind and not forgetting that it is now 24 month contracts.
there is no way to get in toutch with any special rentions dept as i cant find any numbers, you have to wait for the call if they still do it or go with standard deals from 333 which any one can have, i will try calling latter but if they refuse to look after me and give me that extra specal deal then im leaving, and as a matter of priniple the new broadband dongle ive took out with them will also be getting canceld.
little bit of info for those who want to end there contacts early:
new customers have to pay the remainder of there contracts off (monthly price plan x months left) and you get a 3% discount.
existing customers 10% off leaving contract early, this is fact and its in the terms and conditions, 3 store staff and some 333 staff are not aware of this, in fact i enlightend 2 3 store staff members off this today by showing them a copy of there own terms and conditions!
this means its cheaper for you to leave early (by getting the % off) then staying for the months you have left and paying full price plan rates!!0 -
also iphone 4 goes on sale in 3 stores tommrow, 8am in my local store
android 2.1 is also on samsung galaxy portals now0 -
Three have just given me what appears to be a great deal - £5 per month for new Nokia 5230 Smartphone, 250 mins + 100 txts, 18-month contract, PLUS a £180 Curry's voucher, no minimum spend, which is to be delivered within 30 days. I am keeping my old phone and have sold the new one on eBay for £75, so at the moment, without the voucher, the 18 months of usage stands me in at £15 (OK, have to add on eBay fees so that will be £22 in total). If the voucher turns up and is as they say... 3 will be paying me to use them. How does this work? It's not like I'm a big spender. Have just finished my second 18-month contract with them, £15 for 250 mins + 100 txts and mid-range phone (last was Samsung Soul). Phoned up to request PAC code, listened to their first retention offers and declined them, still requested PAC code. Next day got a call with this offer. The only thing I can think of is that my last two bills have been higher as I exceeded my contract minutes and texts, due to our landline being out of order (truly appalling service from Sky, who refused to release my number to Virgin, but that's another story). Any ideas? It seems that declining the first retention offer and requesting a PAC code is certainly the way to get the best offers.0

I keep changing my mind about staying with 3, first offered an LG GT405 for £9/month for 100mins/100texts, for minimum contract 2 years. Didn't want that because it's not got a flash on the camera. Now offering an LG viewty for £10/month 100 mins/5000texts and 500mb internet use.0

I have been with 3 for about 3-4 years having two contracts. I asked for a PAC code on one of them on the 1st of August but 3 are yet to call me with any offers. Its not like it was couple of years ago when I got some cracking deals like 18 months with 17 months free and paying for just 1 month with 600 minutes and 100 txts. Those days are long gone
I am currently thinking of going with t-mobile or orange with the Samsung Galaxy S.0 -

Deals that good are probably gone but there are some good deals to be had - you just have to ask the right questions - e.g. what's the lowest tariff you can do me? will you add free internet?
I recently got a 12 month contract with Nokia 5230 (now sold!) and VTT500 with Internet max for £5 a month. There are some good deals out there - you just have to ask about them.
If you are after a smartphone, the independent dealers seem less greedy than the main network outlets and the best deals are to be had there. (I still can't decide if to buy a sim free smartphone and use my existing sim, or just start a new contract with another network which will often be cheaper over the term of the contract).0 -
When I asked for the PAC code they only offered me tariff I think for £13 a month so nothing else but I was hoping to get a call from retentions from retentions and I could maybe haggle for a galasy x on 20-25 a month but it seems that 3 are trying to push 24 month contracts as most of the other networks which is way too long for me although I have been with 3 for longer than 24 months atleast with a cheaper tariff you can always buy a sim free phone.0
