I have plumped for the HTC Hero after checking it out in the local 3Store today.

£15 for 18 Month contract - Talk 300 Price Plan and 2 GB Internet - Saving me £8 per month - so happy all round. :j Together me and Mrs B have saved £12 per month on mobile phone rental from 3 this year ...so happy days. Couldnt really justify an extra £7 per month for the Desire.

3 are apparently going to be releasing the Android 2.1 software upgrade over the air in the next few weeks.

    about time too

I got bombarded with various offers for the HTC Desire today

    1. 900min mix/match, 5000 3-3, 1gb internet +Desire for £18 on a 24month contract

    2. 500min x network, 2000min landline, 5000 3-3, 5000 txt, 2gb internet + Desire for £25 pounds again on 24 month deal

    3. Same deal as above but £ 30 pounds on a 18month

Also got offered HTC Hero same as deal no for £18 or HTC Wildfire for £20.

How much contract did you have left when they made these offers?
Had you requested your PAC code?
Great offers, hope i can get similar.

rang up, cancelled 3gs order, got 32gb 4 coming 27th july, same tarrif but 189 one off fee. Should have been 219 as im not in last 30days of contract.

I phoned them back last week to try and change the 16gb 4 that I've got arriving on the 27th to the 32gb but the guy said I'd probably have to wait longer. I'd also lose the 2.5gb a month internet usage I'd originally been given (even though I'm sure I'd been told it was 1gb) and would only now get 1gb if I switched, so I decided to stick with the 16gb.

However, I'm conscious of the fact that I'm going to be keeping the phone for 2 years and want to use it to replace my existing mp3 player (which currently has about 8gb of songs on it, although someone told me they may not take up as much space on Apple). I'm also rubbish for never deleting photos.

Should I take the hit on the monthly usage (if I really can't persuade them to let me keep it as a valued customer!) and get the 32gb or will the 16gb be enough as the nice man at 3 kept telling me?

    Hi,

These deals were offered after i requested a PAC code. I rang them up and they offered me them. What I've realised is, they don't move much until after you have gotten yuor PAC code; then give it a week and ring them back. They seem to be more responsive then and try to work out a better deal for you.

One other good thing i have also learnt is, when you are due for your upgrade, you can choose to upgrade to a sim only plan and your only tied in till you're original ending date, then you can ring up cancel, PAC etc etc. So if you current contract which is offering similiar to a sim only deal but costs more or is offereing you less than what the sim only is and your in your upgrade period, it's worth changing your contract and could save you few pounds a month. Like on a previous contract of mine i was paying £21, changed at 10months of an 18month contract to the £15 sim only, so saved 40 odd quid.

Got an HTC Desire on £20 per month for 18 months - 500 mins, 100 texts, 2000 3 to 3 calls and 1GB internet. Paying £120 for the handset. I was offered the Wildfire free but I prefer the largest screen/better resolution of the Desire.

I could probably have got better if I'd held out a little longer.
I was going to go for an iphone but honestly, the difference in price (as I'm always well within the mins/texts!) was too much in the end.. Very glad to get an 18 month contract..
