Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) is a unique identifier used by some mobile and fixed-line telephone network providers to facilitate mobile number.
I think you may need to check this out rather quick!!!

200 x-net minutes, 100 texts, 50 mms, 25 video minutes, £5 downloads (Basically, my current Video Talk Text 350 contract) plus 2gb internet and 5000 3 to 3 calls. I thought that was good for a £5 (I was paying £10 for the same thing without 3 to 3 calls) so I agreed to that.
The same operator then phoned me back immediately and said he could give me a free phone too - a Nokia 5230. Thanks I said.
I was quite pleased with that.
wow, sounds like a really good deal! congrats!any more details on this? i.e how close to the end of your contract are you, how many times did you have to call them? what was your strategy on dealing with them?

Hi, i called up to cancel to switch to T-Mobile and asked for my pac.
This was four days ago, i've since had some calls offering me
Free Samsung Galaxy S
500 x-net min
5000 texts
5000 3 to 3 mins
1GB
24 month contract
£25 per month
or
Free Samsung Galaxy S
500 mix and match x-net units (texts or mins)
300 3 to 3 mins
2GB
24 month phone warranty
18 month contract
£28 per month
or £25 per month if i only want 300 mix and match units.
Obviously the 24 month is a good deal but i really dont want a 24 month contract as i've only ever had 12.
Orange Dolphin are doing a deal for 18 months;
Free Galaxy S
500 mins
Unlimited txts
500mb
£27.50 per month.
My wife's on 3 pay as you go so staying with three would be better for me, but just asking anyones advice or opinions.
1st offer was from retentions but other call have come from 3 Outbound Team (asian guy) and he says it would normally be £43 but their doing it for £28 and assures me they won't better it.
I've got my PAC code and about 20 days left before cancellation happens,
should i say no and wait for a better offer or do you think thats their best?
I've heard some people getting called from English call centres with good deals.... is this true?
Many thanks, Matt0 -
Any help appreciated as they keep ringing me back!0

Under the terms of your agreement you're contractually obliged to see out the remaining 20 days (the minimum term of the contract) but you can use this time to your advantage.
Do some research into other providers and the deals they offer, deals from resellers and the sort of cashback offers available (from reputable sites like Quidco or Topcashback). Then, use this info as bartering ammunition - wait till you're into the last few days of the contract then call them (or better still they will call you) and tell them about the best deals you've found elsewhere. Ask them to match the best deal and if they say "Sorry, we can't do that" then make the move. You already have your PAC and IMO the minor hassle of switching provider (2-3 days of inconvenience) is worth it if you're going to save money.0 -
Any help appreciated as they keep ringing me back!

Hello
I'm with three and my 18 month contract is due up in January(Three have told me I can upgrade or negotiate in October). I've got the n97 and I'm sick of it and would love the htc desire.
I have an idea and I would like to see if you lot think its a good idea:
1. Purchase the htc desire for £285 through my sisters o2 contract
2. In October/January downgrade my plan to a £10 a month sim only tariff(Do you think I could negotiate more than 100 minutes they give as standard?)
3. Therefore over 18 months the phone + tariff would work out as £25.83 a month.
Should I go with this or wait to see what three can do for me? Going by the thread three would only offer something like this on a 24 month contract which is a big no for me!
Thanks in advance!0 -
Contract due to end early November (£20 month, 'Texter' - usually no additional spend) so I called 3 yesterday, not expecting to offer me anything very exciting.
After a fair amount of good-natured haggling with the Indian call centre guy I ended up with (after he 'consulted his manager'):
200 minutes
2000 3-to-3 minutes
3000 texts
2GB Internet (initially offered me 1GB, but then increased to 2GB without me asking).
Samsung Galaxy S
18 month contract.
£15/month !!
£10 accessory voucher.
I am very pleased with that deal.0 -

Think i'd just hold off and see what they offer, if you didn't want a new handset from "3" then you are likely to be offered something better than PAYG like what i have at mo which is; 300xmins, 1000texts for £5.0 -

Prob the best you'll see! Well done, did you ask for the Samsung GS? and did they offer you any other handsets before you accepted?
