Can anyone confirm what is meant to be in the box? The 3 website mentions a 4gb micro SD card. Was that in the phone or in the packaging?
Mine was already in the phone. It all looked brand new and I seem to remember there was a seal In the box but I don't know if it said HTC on it. There was also a small sticky label inside the box which could have been an extra seal but I've put it in the bin...

Called and recieved pack a few days ago, wanted blackberry Bold but didn't get decent offer only same as website deal.

They have tried to call back a few times, but missed calls and they didn't leave any message, but i checked no calling me on google it was an 0845 no.

Will they just give up now as they haven't rang again for about 3 days?

Or should i try them again? and on which contact no?

I had just signed upto vodafone but my three PAC had expired, so I called three to get a new one. Ends up I'm about to call Vodafone back to cancel with them. Here's my deal

    18 Month
    £16 per month
    500mins
    100texts
    2GB
    HTC Desire, £110 up front.

total cost £398 or £22.10 per month including up front cost.

But more amazingly than anything else I spoke to a really good three service centre assistant who took the time to look through my previous calls and apologised for the quantity of calls and the same offers from the other assistants :D She is the first person from three who has listened to what I wanted and did not offer me something totally unrelated!

    This was about the 20th call I've had to/from them, all previous ones useless of course. I have previously been offered;
worse deals than from the website,
a deal on a desire that only after I asked for the contract to be reiterated a 3rd time turned out was for a hero,
I've been lied to about what the three internet deals are,
I've been told I'm reading other providers websites wrong then forced the operator to read aloud what the website said (and then apologise to me :D ),
I got one guy to admit the offer he made me as a 'very valued and discounted customer' was worse than that on offer for new customers,
I even forced one guy to admit the three contracts were non-competative and i'd do better going elsewhere.
The previous call ended up with me getting VERY angry (completely out of character as i usually enjoy the banter/barter etc), swearing at the guy and hanging up on him.

This call was the Mumbai? call centre but the girl I spoke to was a breath of fresh air compared to every other operator I've spoken to! It was done using exactly the same process as you tried. My PAC code was ending today and I was calling to ask whether it could be increased by 3 days as thats when my new vodafone contract would start.

I should add that I've had a three contract for a few years and i'm months past my upgrade. My tarif was already heavily discounted too. I think only wanting another 3 days worth of PAC code was the deal cruncher though.

    Hi guys

I called this morning to try to get an upgrade to the HTC Desire, (today I am in last 30 days of contract) and was told no problem, best deal available though was for £35 per month!!! Internet texter 900. More than they would charge a new customer! Also told Three don't do Iphones and never will! This was I believe, speaking to someone in retentions.

Has anybody recently got a good deal out of three for the desire?

After a few years with three, today I requested my PAC code and will certainly be off if thats the best they can offer.

My wife just got a desire for £22 per month - 24 month contract mix and match 500 with internet.

You need to phone them and go through to the options of I want to leave three - when you speak to someone they will ask why it is you want to leave - you need to tell them that you have seen a better deal with another network on HTC desire -
Do you research before you call get the absolute best deal out there and quote that (even if it includes cashback)
If you dont get what you want first time then call again but always always go through to the team that issues the pac code (ie say you are leaving)

PS - I got an Iphone with 3 only 3 weeks ago so they do do Iphones

Perhaps not the best retention deal.....but here goes.

Got 4 months left on a 18 month contract (£15 per month INQ1), and really want a HTC Desire.

I've been onto 3 regarding that I am seeing deals better elsewhere, (and I was quite prepared to pay up on my contract stating there are better offers out there).

    Anyway, they have offered me

    Free HTC Desire Phone
    500 mix minutes/texts
    Free Interenet 2.5gb per month
all the other free stuff via 3 (Skype, messenger etc)
    100 Free Picture Texts
plus free 4gb memory card & free car charger

Got this for £25 per month.

I am happy with this, as I still had 4 months to go on the contract.

did you have to pay extra for the 4m x 15£ left on your present contract? or did they waive it off?

The remaining 4 x £15 was waived off, so happy that they allowed this (cnew contract starts immediately),and they are in stock too (will be delivered on Monday)

Forgot to say, also got free 2 year warranty too with this.

All I told them at the beginning of the call is that I wanted a Desire NOW and I was going to leave if they couldn't offer me a deal favourable for myself :D
