Three called me yesterday to say that they could now offer me the HTC Desire after I'd expressed interest last week. The guy was only offering the same tariffs as available on the website, no discount, but they're better then what other networks seem to be offering so I didn't mind.

I went for the £25 per month internet texter option - 300 mins, unlimited txts and "unlimited" data (actually 500mb!)

    It should be delivered today.

    Wuh!
3 are so inconsistent it's shocking. I expressed an interest 3 weeks ago and haven’t had any calls since requesting my PAC

So, well done getting one :rotfl:

I received the handset today, I guess it's the brown one (though it looks rather purple to me!). Charging now :)

Most 3 online deals roll over for a few months (or are replaced with something of equal value) so dont let the fact that it is only valid until the end of the month sway your decision.I am in the same boat and waiting for retentions to get some more in stock.

They are saying next month as well and I have no doubt that they will still be able to offer me a deal on the Desire when they get some.
Well well well, I got called 4 times today by 3 retentions but I couldn't talk to them because I was at work. I called them back when i got home and was offered the htc desire for £22 a months (300mn / unlimited texts / 500Mb data...) as I hardly use my phone at all (mostly for emergency) I told them about the £17 deal (100 mn / texts mix + 500Mb data + 100 picture emails...) which the rep didn't know about. She finally repented and offered my the £17 deal and I should get my phone on Thursday while still keeping my number. Hopefully this whole saga will have a happy ending on Thursday! Will keep you posted.
Tip: when you call 3, select the option "thinking of leaving 3" as they seem to be able to offer much better deals.

I forgot to mention that I told her that if she couldn't give me the £17 deal, i was going to request my PAC code and open a new account on that deal as a new customer - an option which she couldn't argue about but would have ended up taking longer and the process being more complicated for both them and me.

Hmm, now I dont know whether to go through the trial of phoning them up again or waiting until the end of the month.

Have nothing else planned so lets give them a call...

    Edit: Closed at 8 :(

    Intriguing,

Behindtheeye & Sandrine - did you already request your PAC?

I registered my interest in an upgrade over 2 weeks ago and have had no call back. But I already have my PAC, so I wonder if they've given up on me. To be honest, I'm ready to move to T-Mobile for the shorter term contract, higher data policy and flexible booster for a slightly higher price per month.

Kau, no I talked about getting the PAC but I never got as far as actually getting it. I'm guessing it just depends on whether there is stock available at the particular time you call.

Same for me. I talked about it but never requested it.

I must have called 3 5 or 6 times trying to upgrade to a Desire only to be told I didn't meet certain criteria that would qualify me for the phone. CS then refused to tell me what these criteria were. Until recently they were getting £60 a month from me from various contracts but they can now go take a running jump. The only thing I'll miss is those cosy chats with 3 customer services. Muppets.

Hi guys, apologies if this is the wrong place to put this question but was wondering if anyone could advise me?
I have a Nokia 6220 classic which is due for upgrade with 3
I have a discounted contract to basically about £6 per month which is excellent and I don't want to change it.
I pay and extra £5 per month to get unlimited internet access.

What I really want is to keep all the contract stuff the same but to upgrade to a wifi enabled phone with at least as much memory as i currently have (16gb) but when I ring 3 upgrades they refuse point blank unless I pay a 3 figure sum for any wifi phone. Any advice on should I stick or twist so to speak? Thanks guys, David
