3 Retention Deals

I spoke to 3 over the weekend about an upgrade. I still have 2 months left, so I wasn't expecting an amazing deal, but I've managed to break my phone, so I thought I'd see what I could get. They offered me Mix & Match 300, at £17 per month for the SE T715, or £20 per month for the SE C903. Worse than they offer online! I explained that I use the internet a lot on my mobile, and asked if there were any packages including internet usage. I was told there wasn't, but if I wanted I could pay £2.50 on top of either of those packages for 10MB a month, or £5 a month for unlimited internet. I really wasn't impressed! Unfortunately, because I was in a bit of a panic over having broken my phone, I agreed to take one of these offers. I feel a bit stupid now, and when the new phone arrives tomorrow it's getting sent straight back.0

So glad I read this thread!
My contract expires 10th May and I was planning on phoning them on the 10th April to find out what offers I could get but think I'll just tell them I want to leave!
I phoned them in January cos initially I was told you could upgrade 3 months before the end but it seems this has now changed to 30 days before the end now.
Ideally I want a Blackberry or iPhone - have been with 3 for 3 years and OH is with them as well. I'm looking for unlimited internet, emails & texts and around 500 minutes which is about £25 on website but no Blackberry on that deal.
Guess I'll have to be very firm about leaving and see what I get offered.

Why not wait for them to offer you a better deal such as the £5 Mix and Match 300 contract with a phone worth £109.99 like I got? Okay, so Internet is £5 a month extra, but that's still only £10 a month and you could sell the free phone for about £80 on Ebay which would pay for your first eight months. Of course, if you send loads of texts then Mix and Match 300 is not for you but I am sure they have other offers if they think they will lose you.
The £15 sim is no longer available on their website - it was taken off about a week ago. And yes, this is just a stopgap that saves me £5 while I'm still tied in to my current contract. I'm certianly gonna renegotiate in 60 days time, and your deal may well be the sort of thing that tempts me to stay with three.0 -
So I just rang to find out when my contract was due to finish - got asked why I wanted -to leave.
The Blackberry needs its own internet package apparently so even though I got the handset cost knocked off (£199) I would still have to pay extra each month for internet.
Anyway - I'm now the proud owner of a Nokia 97 (which I wanted earlier in the year but it was £200 handset price!) - got the tariff I wanted with a bluetooth headset & SD card chucked in as well :T
so I got an early upgrade, the tariff I wanted, a fab phone & freebies! All be here tomorrow :jA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Somehow a contract wasn't included when I received the phone (yesterday). Might have to call them today to find out.0 -

I know you've already contacted three, but I was offered a deal which I posted in this very thread (here). That included the offer of a blackberry with 700mins and unlimited txts or internet.
I've been with 3 for approx 4 years (or this will be my 4th) - anyway I'm not sure how much you were willing to pay - just wish I could have told you earlier / you spotted my post. You could always try calling them again, though seems as you're heppy with your purchase just stick with it.
Either way all that matters is that you're chuffed

I posted on Monday explaining that I had arranged a really bad upgrade with 3 that I was planning to cancel, and my story has progressed a bit further.
Originally, I was on the £20 internet texter deal - 200 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet and unlimited 3 to 3 calls. My contract was due to end at the start of June. On Saturday, I broke my phone, so I phoned up to ask about the possibility of an upgrade. I was offered mix & match 300 for £20 a month on the C903, plus an extra £2.50 a month for 10MB data usage. So I would be paying £2.50 more a month than I was already paying, and getting less for it. I was told this was the best kind of offer available to me until nearer the end of my contract. Because I was in a bit of a panic over breaking my phone, I agreed to the contract. However, after thinking it over, I realised it was really stupid of me, so yesterday, when the phone was delivered, I refused the delivery.
Today, I called 3 to inform them I had refused delivery of the phone, and wanted to be put back on my original contract. After being transferred between several different departments, and having to repeat my DOB and postcode several times, I got through to the right department. I explained what I wanted to do, but then the man I was speaking to said instead, he would put me on a £15 contract, getting 300 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, and unlimited 3 to 3 calls, with the same end date as my original contract.
Needless to say, I am very happy with this!0 -
The £15 sim is no longer available on their website - it was taken off about a week ago.
It is there now on http://threestore.three.co.uk/sim/ States "To get a SIM contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited 3-to-3 calls and unlimited internet for just £15 a month call 0800 358 4425."0 -
Did you get this in writing?
Somehow a contract wasn't included when I received the phone (yesterday). Might have to call them today to find out.
They said they would confirm it in writing, but they did not and the phone arrived without this confirmed. Did you call them? On My3 I noticed I have been changed over to Mix and Match 300 but it doesn't state the new bill amount yet.0
