3 Retention Deals

You cannot rely on Quidco/Topcashback. Soemtimes it doesn't track and you won't get anywhere with enquiries. I did my first 3 contract via Quidco; three years on still no cashback and they have closed the enquiry.
As for other cashback - E2save etc - I have also done these over the years. They can be a pain and on my last one I never received the last cashback despite several phone calls etc. My advice is to see the cashback as a bonus and never sign up for a contract (real terms) more than you want to pay.
Yeah totally agree. I figured if the best I'm going to get from 3 is a £25 per month deal, I might as well go for the same phone elsewhere also at £25, but with the chance of cashback.i got the x6 on an upgrade yesterday on 500 mix and match with internet for 17.50 also an 18month contract
Did you contact them to upgrade, or did you threaten to leave and then decided to upgrade once they offered that deal? Also, is that the same deal as the £25 per month one, only with a 30% discount, and did you have to push for it to be only an 18 month contract, being originally 24 months?0 -
I have decided to change my service provider when it comes up for renewal. I have been with 3 mobile for a long time now because of how cheap they are but their UK coverage is awful!
4 years of crap reception is coming to an end0 -
Just coming up to 18month contract completion so spoke with 3 CS, not a lot doing so went with a sim 15 deal. I am a light user but do use make use of the internet and e-mail quite often . I was originally on mix match 300 plus internet max paying £20. My main aim come the end of the contract was to reduce my monthly tarrif maybe to £15 max. I decided to cancel the sim 15 deal and try for another upgrade so after numerous calls and false offers by three , they offerred me internet max as a freebie for the duration of upgrade. So finally struck a deal on Nokia E63 mix match 300 for just over £11a month.
I had to persevere (sp?) with them, and I was on the brink of leaving and maybe going back to O2 or to one of the virgin £10 deals.
I must say one 3 CS guy was very helpful and rang me when he said he would but the other CS peple went through the same questions over again which was very frustrating.
thats a good deal u have. can i just ask which mobile provider u got it from??
* just found it. 3!i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -
Ive put in my 30 days notice a couple days ago and was just offered the iphone16gb 3gs as a uprgrade on a ridiculously high tariff with a upfront cost of £280! I want the HTC hero and he offered it me for £25 per month (500 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet) on a 24 month contract.....exactly what a new customer would get!!!! They've done this several times...offering me the same deals available to a new customers. I want the HTC Hero on a 18 month contract with a small discount on the £25 month line rental....anyone managed to get something similiar?0

My 18-month contract ends around 16th April. I put my notice in by email three times, but they are not replying to my messages. When I spoke on the phone before that they said I had to call 30 days before the contract ends or lose part of my contract, which is madness as I am out of the country then. Surely AT LEAST 30 days notice means one can give notice any time before that to leave when the contract reaches 18-months?! I am looking to move to PAYG as the retention deals are no better than new customers get.0

Same here - my contract is up 4th Apr so I need to get the ball rolling this weekend. I also have mobile broadband which I use about 3x a year so that's pure profit for 3 and I guess I'll try to cancel both and see what they offer.
Someone got a Hero for less than £20 a month on an 18-month contract (see my post on page 132) and that's what I'm after.0 -
Always amuses me that you have to "end" an 18 month contract, surely the point of an 18 month contract is that it ends in 18 months, not carries on and on if you don't give them 30 days notice.
You dont get a bank loan for 18 months and if you don't cancel it they just keep taking the money off you forever:rotfl:
Anyway I'm due to call these up this weekend to see what I can upgrade to, currently on £15 mix and match for £15, but did get both RAF and Quidco at the time:D0 -
Been with 3 (18 month contract) for nearly 21/2 years.
Nokia 6288 started failing so sent back for repair. 3 couldn't (wouldn't?) repair it as it was out of warranty and had suffered from water ingress (IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN IN THE RAIN).
Being so fed up with the customer service (not, incidentally, the coverage - it's ok for my needs where I am) I decided to move and wrote asking for PAC number. Guess what? Following my increased aggressive demands for my PAC (they didn't respond to my correspondence) I've been offered 300 mix'n'match text/minutes (enough for my needs) for £5pm for life (18month contract) PLUS a brand new Samsung S5600.
PERSEVERE ASK FOR CUSTOMER RETENTIONS AND YOU WILL GET SOMETHING.:T0 -

It's not an 18 month contract, it's an 18-month minimum term contract. Subtle difference. I'm sure you'd be very impressed if your phone suddenly stopped working 18 months and 1 day after you signed up because you forgot to 'renew' it.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
