3 Retention Deals

They also offered 500 x-net mins and 100 texts with no new phone for £5 a month on a 12 month contract.
. ....No customer loyalty discount after 5 years with 3 which is why I'm now with Vodafone through M2YD.
£5 for 500mins/100 texts sounds a pretty good "customer loyalty discount"
Your move to M2YD is a bit of a gamble.
M2YD are really just another trading name of phones4u, and presumably this deal you have gone for is a cashback one.
p4u don't have good reports in this area when it comes time to pay out the cashback - there are problems posted in this thread:

500 mins and 100 texts is no good for me, I use around 500 texts a month and I've got a new contract so I don't want 2 phones. I did ask for more texts and less minutes but the person at 3 couldn't offer me that. Personally I don't see my cash back deal with M2YD as a gamble, yes there is loads of feedback about various companies on this forum but If I had any doubt in my mind I would have sent the phone back. I've gone for cash back deals for at least the past 6 years, the only problem I've had was with a company called Just3G (they went bankrupt but I did receive 2 out of 6 claims) but apart from that I've made over 30 successful cash back claims over the years. M2YD have confirmed my claim dates and you have 60 days to make the claim. I always use special delivery so I'm not worried, it all comes down to personal preference.0 -

Ah - that old chestnut again. The past behaviour of cash-back companies is no indication of their future performance, and just at the moment they seem to be getting universally very awkward indeed.
Its true cashback is getting worse and worse. I've been doing it for years and have finally started to stop now because of the worsening situation. CPW who are brilliant for cashback haven't had any good deals for ages now, their other sites like e2save have t&c's I'm not happy with.0 -
Had a pretty good offer earlier, 150 x-net mins and 750 texts for just £5 a month on a 12 month contract. Or with a Nokia 6120 for just £10 a month! I've also been offered the LG U990 on mix and match 700 for just £21, I'm tempted to send my M2YD phone back and go for that offer with the LG handset.0

Yes - sounds rather good - though you may have to pay for the cost of returning your handset. The distance selling regs do not oblige the supplier to cover return postage costs if the item is unwanted.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

I've had a look at the Nokia 6120 in the 3 shop. It's a pretty good handset and you can browse the internet at the new speed of 3.5G which I've found is much faster than 3G. With Opera Mini you can browse the internet with no restrictions and the 6120 has pretty good specifications even though it's a classic handset, so yes it's a very tempting offer.0 -

I don't think it's a new offer, the deals also depend on how much you have spent over the year. It's crazy because I can speak to one person and they will only offer 500 x-net mins and 100 texts and nothing else and then a few hours later I get another call offering the 150 x-net mins and 750 texts!0 -
The people you get when you ring up don't have the best offers.
You need to await a call from the "special" retention dept (around 7 days before your contract is due to end). They will make best deals - with stories like "we have a special offer only for our best customers who have never defaulted on a bill" (difficult as we pay by direct debit).0
