3 Retention Deals

I had a number of calls from 3 CS just prior to my contract expiring. All the calls offered me nothing more than is available on the 3 website  .
I asked for a sim only deal & was told that 3 no longer do sim only contracts.
Im now with Virgin on the 300 mins & 300 texts for £10 sim only:beer:0 -
Called up 3 again today as my contract ens 14th Nov and my PAC expires on 13th Nov.
Spent about 30 minutes but the best I was offered was 500 min + 100 Texts and a Nokia 6688 or 6210 or SE 800Wi for £15 a month. When I said that earlier I was offered a deal at £10/month as I dont need so many minutes, I was told that they dont do any deals like that but the best he could offer was £13/month with 300 .
I will give them another call tomorrow n see what they say and maybe take the Nokia with 500 min or may be with 300 minutes at £13/monthI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
RESULT !!!
With only 2 days to go until one of my contracts ends, and after around 3 hours on the phone to retentions at the weekend (they called me, only offering what was on the web and no better), I got a call today again. No long attempted persuasions, straight off offered me 500 mins + 100 txts for £5 a month for LIFE !!!
Needless to say I snatched their hand off, as I've still got three spare 3G phones left to keep me going for a good few years. Can't get much better than this, no need tochange numbers, no more sweating about if the cashback comes through or not, and they're even going to confirm it in writing !!
GunJack - a happy bunny now wondering what to do with the new phone I ordered on Sunday.....:D......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
See - told you to be patient!!
It is no good ringing them as you cannot get through to this special department.
You just have to stare them out and they come for you!0 -
Only 4 days left before my PAC expires, gave them a call today again with the intention of taking the £13/month offer with a free phone and 300 minortexts but they simply backtracked and offered me the deal which is there on their website, so I simply told them that why wouldnt I simply go through a cashback site instead and get 30-50 cashback/RAF
I think I have go to O2 now.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -

crikey, that's a good deal. did you call 30 days ago just to cancel your contract, or did you request a PAC code? i don't know if i dare risk the 30 days notice, don't want to lose my number really...
also, how does one tell that the all-powerful three retentions team are calling? is there a particular number they call from? last time i had a three contract about to end i got all sorts of random phone companies ringing me offering upgrades...
also also... do three still refund unused line rental? due to sheer laziness on my part last year, my contract ends a few days after my billing date, which means that even if i cancel on the day my contract ends, i will already have paid for at least three weeks more line rental than that.
it looks increasingly likely i will cancel now, unless i get offered the £5 a month. i have another friend on 500 minutes + 100 texts who is paying about £1.50 a month (i've seen his bill) plus a free phone (lord knows how he wangled that), so if they expect me to go on paying £30, they're havin a larf...0 -
I'm on an 18 month contract with Three and still have 3 months to go on it. My phone has been playing up a bit recently so I figured that it was time for a new one.
I called Three and chose the option that I was thinking of leaving Three and got through to their retentions/customer services department. Basically I told them that I had been phone shopping with my Girlfriend and the phone shop had offered to buy me out of my contract and had offered me a great deal on a new contract. The Woman from Three then checked my account and offered me a new handset on a 12 month contract with my line rental dropping from £40 per month to £23 per month!
The only catch is that the 12 month contract starts from when my current one would have finished (early Februaury). But on the brightside I've got a new handset and I will go onto the new cheaper contract immediately :j
So if you're wanting/needing an upgrade it's worth a try!0 -

Ferris, you still have to give notice to cancel.
The best retention offer comes right at the end of your notice period.
If it doesn't materialise then you can contact them and rescind your notice just before it expires and try again the following month.
(If you ask them they do refund any unused line rental after disconnection)0
