Had a 20 minutes discussion about how new customer could get £47.50 from Quidco and what Quidco was, them insisting it was a retailer offering cashback and how three have nothing to do with cashback, then after a talk with a supervisor saying that I could go through quidco to upgrade and get the money, me saying I wasn't going to do that as it wouldn't track, then another talk with a supervisor he came back saying no I was right and it was only available to new customers. I asked them if they could give me account credit of the same amount as I was not going to pay more than a new customer would and they said they could not do that so they accepted my 30 days notice and gave me my PAC. See what happens over the next 30 days now and if they don't move on the price then goodbye three.
I've had a similar conversation with them regarding the deals that are available to new customers and would be interested in hearing if they get back to you with a deal. The best offer I got out of them was for a one off £10 credit - but would not be able to return the phone if there were any problems with it.
Roll on the end of my contract with 30 -
Just rejected a deal from three retentions -
Nokia N97 for free with 750 xnet mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet, unlimited three-three calls and skype for under £35/m...
Problem is it was a 24 month contract with an option to upgrade after 21 months...
If this was 18 months, I may have considered it, but anything longer is far too much!
Asked for my PAC code.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
Sill lots of problems with the N97, even though many have said its fixed its not. got a mate who works in the 3shop, (he cant do any deals for me though) Looking at another E71, our other one if fab...... got it on the VTT500 £5 per free, they want to give me (I am on mix and match 1100) 300mins and still £20. shove it. It may be a good deal for some, but because we have another on £5, we keep looking at that!0

So are you saying you got an E71 on VTT500 at £5? When was this? All indications (apart from mutley74 who seems to have been very lucky) is that the only thing you can do on VTT500 is keep the contract going: no new handset, and no significant discounts on a new contract if you change it.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Yes, this is not a silly boast or anything, but we do have 4 phones in the house (they dont care a hoot about this) yes 100% £5 phone was free, thjey said 18months, but when I call and check it says July 10! so its 12 months...
Its a good phone, even if you hate the keyboard, pick it up and feel the build quality.
they are not interested on out other phone so we will be leaving them, got the pac! I can pick up any phone and get this sim only with o2 100 quid cashback 800 mins and free web, I will just buy a phone. works out at £11 odd a month with the cashback http://www.quidco.com/mobiles-utilities/mobile-phones-plans/o2/0 -
Just called to terminate another contract, what a nightmare ! they just won't accept no for answer, the deals they offer are worse than new customers.
I am sceptical about the £5 retention deals0 -
I don't think there's anything to be sceptical about - you just continue on the VTT500 at £5 a month until you cancel it (with 30 days' notice). Or you can transfer ownership of the contract to someone else.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Been with 3 (mobile broadband) for a couple of years, no probs with service. Cancelled my contract (moved into a flat that had wifi etc) and was offered an upgrade - free laptop with mobile broadband at £20/month over 18 months. Accepted the deal on the proviso of a 14 day no-quibble refund. I decided against it in the end and returned the goods.
Got a final bill 2 days ago, phonecall from 3 harrassing me for payment yesterday and then debt collection agency today threatening me with all sorts of demands for payment - I've still got four days to pay!!!
0/10 recommendation for 3 :mad:0 -
after reading this thread i've made 2 moves on the contracts i had.. Firstly on the first contract i rang them to end the contract. They talked me through various deals. Because this phone is for my wife and she didn't want a new phone i got a 1 month rolling contract for just under £10 a month for which i'm happy with. Second contract for myself i wanted a new phone. i rang to cancel my phone which i'm on mm1100 and my monthly spend is between £45 and £70 a month. I requested a PAC number and they then proceeded to offer me an N97 for £35 a month. Although this on my current price plan is £47 amonth i refused. He then asked me what i wanted to pay. I told him around £25 amonth on 18 month contract. He told me this wasn't possible as the phone alone is £600 to buy. I then told him that this is rubbish as i could buy one direct from nokia for £499 inc vat. he said inturn that this still doesn't give much room in payments to pay for phone and line rental. Rightly or wrongly i then said that 3 would be getting these phones for less than i could buy them for and that i spend more than my monthly package anyway so i'm sure the profit margin is still there. We went back and forth and finally i refused the deal. I've already recieved my code by text and i will get a payg card asap for me to transfer the number too. lets see if they will contact me.
Also forgot to mention they did offer me a slightly better deal that the one they first offered me but i asked them to confirm this by email or letter and they wouldn't as ( it wasn't company policy) so i refused so i wouldn't get stung with a contract i hadn't agreeded to.0 -
