3 Retention Deals

Hi
I am on an 18 month Mix & Match 500 for £18 pm expiring on 1st July. 3 have offered to upgrade me to 1100 mins for £20 pm and give me a LGU990i phone if I get back to them today. Is this a good offer (I will need to sign up for another 18 months)?
Thanks0 -
rev_henry - I would stick to your guns. The most they can do you for is the 2.5 months of line rental, but thats to be expected as the line rental should include the cost of the handset regardless of the loyalty discount applied. If they do muck you about, I would just sit tight for the 1.5 months and then cancel. What's your rush to terminate? Did you spot a good somewhere else?0

Thats the web offer of Mix&Match 1100 for £20.25 but with a different handset. I wouldnt' accept that as a renewal. Anything a new customer can get I wouldn't take as an upgrade, as you can simply take out a new contract and get some cashback and a £20 voucher for your troubles which helps to bring down the overall cost over 18mths.0 -

He then went on about million dollar cars not working and !!!!, what a !!!!!!. I'm calling on Sunday to cancel my contract, I think it's 30 days notice you have to give? Expires on June 3rd anyway.
And he's the one acting like a d**K :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks for that. I'm just impatient. Want a new phone NOW! :P Think that's what I'll end up doing. I'm on hold to Customer Options (=retentions) atm, to find out how much it is to pay out the contract, so I'll see what they say. Maybe they'll be more forthcoming than upgrades were.
I had no luck with either department, both were offering the same deals. Perhaps you'll have a better chance than me. After 5 calls to their CS about upgrading...I lost my calm and patience, they just don't want to listen. Oh just to let you know, when I called them once they talked about putting me on a 14month contract...so that might be an option if they give you a good deal in the first place for your plan and phone. Ask to be put on 14months, they also mentioned about 1st month free/£20 credit to the account on an 18mth contract. 14mth contract may be worth considering as you'll save 4 months of line rental compared to new customers.
I think you can imagine the thoughts running through my head when talked about the "£20 credit" over 18mths...thats a whole £1.11 off the line rental each month and how beneficial that would be to me, as I was looking to reduce my monthly outgoings.0 -
Hi,
I am in the last 3 months of a contract and I want a new phone. But their offers are crap.
Is it worth expecting 3 more months ( a looooong time) , will they give a better offer? (I want the new handset that they have on offer now, not anything they have refurbished).
From what they have offered now I am far better off if I make a new contract (and get quidco), (I don't know if refer a friend and quidco works together?)
Should I hold my horses ?0 -
mess0804 - I think you can take out the existing deal thats currently on offer. They would just tag the new contract to the end of your existing one...effectively taking it to 21months. Depending on what phone you are after, you may be able to buy one outright at a discount, saving you signing on for another 18mths.
I don't advise taking out another new contract whilst your existing one is running as you'll be paying two line rentals for the next 3 months. Bearing in mind that any existing deals may be extended to next month or bettered by another offering.0 -
