3 Retention Deals

Very interesting, thanks for that. I'll give it a go tomorrow. Doesn't surprise me.parallax_20 wrote: »Three are a bunch of liars if you ask me. They will tell you anything to put you off cancelling. If your loyalty discount is for the life of the contract then even if you do cancel within the final month, they have no right to charge you extra than what you are currently paying. Ask the 3 agent to point you on the T&C's where it says your loyalty discount if forfeited if you cancel in the final month. I bet he can't.
Wait a minute, I'm not cancelling in the final month, I'm trying to pay out the last 2.5 months of my contract, so I'm cancelling early.0

Just found this on 3 website:
How early termination fees (cancellation fees) are calculated:
Cancellation fees are calculated in line with guidance published by our regulator, Ofcom. The guidance says providers can recover the costs they incurred acquiring the customer when calculating the early termination fee. This is how we calculate the cancellation fee for customers who have a phone with us: it is a lump sum equivalent to the total of all of the monthly charges still remaining during the minimum term of a Pay Monthly customer's contract with us, less a discount of: 3% for customers who are in their first minimum term contract with us; or 10% for existing customers who have previously upgraded or renewed their existing contract with us.
Certainly doesn't sound like what the guy was telling me earlier.0

I think this is what is really annoying me about 3 at the moment..the total inconsistency re retention deals. I've been with them since day one, have always been a heavy user (ie at least 500 mins), and for two years I was also paying for another (PAYG) 3 phone in my name for my daughter, spending at least another £25. Last year I had a £14 loyalty discount, this year I've only been offered the same as a new customer, and with a lesser phone to boot! I've been on the phone to them 3 times threatening to leave and the best Ive got out of them is £2 off for 4 months! I've come to the end of my contract, dont need to keep my number, so would be better getting cashback through Quidco and starting again! Its crazy!Ask for your PAC and the offers will flood in!
My wife did this, after a few weeks they offered the £30 tarrif for £3 a month, yes three pounds...and that was with a new phone too.
Ask to cancel, hold your ground and they'll give you more than you want!0

Well after over 5 years as a loyal customer, I gave my notice to three
And today my wife will be doing the same.

I phoned 3 yesterday to enquire about an upgrade as my current contract has ended. Like most people on here I was offered the rubbish they can’t shift, and eventually offered the E71 for 25 a month. They make it sound like such a great offer until you realise all of the deals are on their website. I then tell them no I want a better deal, which is when they say oh a great tariff for 20 pound a month, except its only 200 minutes a month and I average 400-500.

I gave up and went to cancellations, spending half an hour telling the guy I want to cancel as their deals are rubbish. “How about a Nokia N95” is it a refurb I ask, “Yessir”. “but its 400 pounds worth of phone and you won’t get this anywhere else” the only way I won’t get that deal elsewhere is if I have my backside superglued to the chair and my web browser configured to only go to three’s website!

Again I got the useless tariffs etc, basically the same deals as offered by retention, which are the same deals offered to new customers. They cannot grasp the fact that I can go to another shop, get the same phone with the same number of minutes etc for the same price and also have a free psp, ds, wii etc.

Finally gave notice – I am so disappointed with 3.0

Disappointed is exactly how I feel too. I feel all the loyalty I've given 3 in sticking with them so long has all been for nothing. Think I will be giving notice this week too. Let us know how you get on elsewhere!0

Soon 3 will grasp the fact that unless they offer decent retention deals like EVERY OTHER network they'll be losing customers like the plague.0

Just had a call from three, after a row on the phone with the really dense operator on the other end (It's not the language barrier, she really was thick) I got offered a Nokia E71 Texter 500 (500 mins unlimited texts) and unlimited mobile internet for 25 a month.
Told her I'd think about it:D0

            Yeah, balls to that.0

Just checked through the 3 price guide and full T&Cs. Absolutely no reference to loyalty discounts whatsoever. 3 have some questions to answer...0
