Exactly. He was trying to offer me a Viewty for £15, I don't want an old thing, I'd like a NEW ONE.
He then went on about million dollar cars not working and !!!!, what a !!!!!!. I'm calling on Sunday to cancel my contract, I think it's 30 days notice you have to give? Expires on June 3rd anyway.0 -

Hi
I am on a 500 mins/sms Mix & Match package with 3 and they told me that I qualified for an upgrade, but when I asked for the details, they said that they noted that I had not exceeded my 500 mins per month (i.e. was not a big spender), so would just be willing to keep me on the same tariff. Are they likely to “increase” this offer?
I also saw a 3 offer (valid till 29th April) for the 1100 Mix & Match package for £20pm (18 month contract) reduced from £27pm. I will ask them if they can “upgrade” me to this offer and provide a new phone; if they refuse, can I cancel my existing contract (I assume that if I am entitled to an upgrade that I must be out of my contract period) and immediately sign up to this offer, or does there have to be a gap between cancelling your contract and becoming a 3 customer again? If I cancel, could I ask for a PAC code and transfer this to the “new” 3 phone?
Thanks!0 -
Ask for your PAC and the offers will flood in!
My wife did this, after a few weeks they offered the £30 tarrif for £3 a month, yes three pounds...and that was with a new phone too.
Ask to cancel, hold your ground and they'll give you more than you want!0 -
Contrary to what Astec says, I requested a PAC code about 3 weeks ago now and not heard a peep out of them.
On a general note, they will offer you what is available on their website to new customers and nothing better when you first speak to them (they'll more likely offer you a free N95 8GB on your existing contract). I've read a few people getting some really good last minute deals from retentions, but thats if they will call you, so it is a bit hit and miss. I guess it really depends on your monthly spend. I've got my PAYG sim ready to hand to transfer my number over in the last few days if I don't hear from them. But be careful playing the waiting game, cos if you don't use your PAC code within 30 days period, you will have to give another 30 days notice. So really depends on if you are prepared to pay the next months line rental when you can get better elsewhere.
With regards to upgrading, they will allow you to upgrade 2 (12mths) or 3(18mth) months prior depending on length of contract. Your upgrade will commence from when the old one ceases. And you can't request a PAC code unless you're within the last month of your minimum term. i.e. 30 days notice to coincide with contract end date or after. You cannot move numbers between 3 contracts. You would need to port out and then back again to your new contract. Apparently you can port number back on an existing 3 contract at anytime.
Hope that helps.0 -
Im gonna call up Sunday for a PAC code then.
He also offered an E71 thinking I was an idiot, kill yourself, hah.0 -
Just off the phone to 3 AGAIN. I asked about cancelling early and he said that my early termination fee payable would be without the loyalty discount I've been receiving over my current contract. I'm on £25/month, reduced to £18/month by loyalty discount, atm. Surely this isn't right? How can they ask for more money to not provide a service than TO provide said service. Can someone point me in the right direction?0

Three are a bunch of liars if you ask me. They will tell you anything to put you off cancelling. If your loyalty discount is for the life of the contract then even if you do cancel within the final month, they have no right to charge you extra than what you are currently paying. Ask the 3 agent to point you on the T&C's where it says your loyalty discount if forfeited if you cancel in the final month. I bet he can't.0
