    I thought 3 didn't do blackberry's.

The Three website and shop begs to differ :)

No, but they do do BlackBerries. ;)

Just been on the phone to 3 upgrades for ages. Seen LG Renoir £25/month on their website, 18 months, 200 mins unlimited texts and internet, but you can get £47.50 quidco on top of that. After putting me on hold, he offered me the renoir at £25 a month, same as new customers, but then I spent almost half an hour trying to explain what quidco was, and I got nowhere. He just kept denying that quidco was anything to do with 3, and wouldn't budge from what he had offered. I think this is a good deal but it irritates me that he wouldn't give me a discount equivalent to the quidco cashback and that they didn't seem to believe me. Any ideas how I could have more success?
I know, it's the "wholly tracked online" which always scuppers me too!
Tried to get cashback on my PO Homephone but because I needed a line reactivation I had to ring up and even tried pursuading them to use the "online" order reference I had created tried to do it online initially but sadly not!
Also, only time it has worked was when getting PO Car Insurance, tried online, it told me to ring up, completed it on the phone then asked the cashback site to poke the cashback claim and it seemed to track ok!

It's always hard to know, I went for a quidco cashback deal with 3 a while ago and now i'm looking to replace my "other" orange contract with potentially a three one, I know I'll definately get the recommend a friend discounts if i ring up, and perhaps a bit more (they love you taking out more than one contract!) However i'll have to do a comparison with the "new" contracts online with cashback and still throwing in the recommend a friend thing during the online order process!
Flip me! If only these companies made it easy for us to fleece them out of money!
On that note, Has anyone used Cashback Guardian or whatever it is called? A "Toolbar" type thing which is supposed to highlight whatever your buying online with who's doing the best cashback! I haven't looked into it much however initially was a bit dubious as it's probably tracking everything you do and just how "unbiased" it is, I don't know!
    Anyway, waffle session over!

P.S. What do people think of 3 coverage? Especially anyone in Northern Ireland?

    Cheers,

3 Coverage in my experience is dreadful. I'm still not sure why I'm tempted to stay with them, until a couple of days ago I was determined to rid myself of them, until the want of a new phone 3 months early started getting the better of me! I'll try calling again and seeing if they'll give me a better offer. I'm tempted by the renoir offer above but I'm not paying more than a new customer.

I had the same problem with the lady I spoke to this morning. She told me cash back sites depended on credit scoring lol!!!!!
Lol that is funny. Its so ridiculous that they don't get it because someone at 3 must understand if money manages to get from them to quidco! The guy I spoke to, after some persuasion, checked with his manager, who told him the same as he was telling me; it was part of some 3rd party deal and nothing to do with 3. I mentioned that he could try his exec office but he didn't seem keen on this and I didn't push it. I'll just try again in a bit.

I have to say 3 coverage where I am is really good, Ive never had any problems, except in the first couple of months of them starting up. Have always recommended them previously. I also like My 3, and that I can keep track of minutes and texts so easily....I'm just miffed that they dont seem to want to keep me enough ..sob....

After the first minute billing fiasco of a few months ago I have been left with a bitter taste in my mouth about 3. IMO their customer services is shambolic; I'm just so tempted by getting a new phone now!

Sit on your hands!!! I think it was the thought of a new phone with me too, but having looked at so many online the past few days, I'm beginning to feel a certain fondness for the Nokia 6288 Ive already got!
  • I've never used a cahback site (ever).

Can I use one to buy a NEW Three contract (if I dont get a better deal) & keep my number with Three & get Cashback? or only on NEW Customers/New Number phones?

You won't be able to port the number directly.

If the cashback retailer permits ported numbers, then you can use a well worn route: Port your 3 number onto a payg sim on another network. When the port has completed to the new payg sim, then port it again onto your new 3 cashback deal.
