I have been on 100 minutes,100 texts a month with 3 for £5/month for the last 11 months.
I gave 1 months notice to terminate my contract today and they offered to continue the same deal for another 12 months, plus they would give me a new Nokia31-20 or a SE K530i.
I would really like some more minutes is it worth holding out for a better offer or accept this offer? Thanks

Hey thats a good deal, the phone has to be worth the cost of £12x £5 =£60, so effectively this deal will cost you nothing.

    Hi guys,

I have 6 days to go and no call yet!

If they don't call I want to get the new o2 simplicity tariff to use with my current phone. What is the best way to keep my no.? Should I call them up the day before and change to a PAYG? Can i then just ask for my PAC? I think if I ask for my PAC now it will re-set my 30 days notice. Is that right?

    Thanks,

    Lol.
You'll need to do something to keep your No.
As far as I know if you ask for a pac that starts a 30 day notice period.

I also think that if you ask to go to PAYG they will say that needs 30 day notice period as well so that will also extend your contract.

I'm not aware of any way to keep your No without 30 days notice. Hence ideally you ask to go to PAYG when you first cancel.

Yes, I tried to get a PAC after I put 30 days notice on but they wanted me to add a new 30 days notice, as it will costs me £35 Line rental I opted against this, would be cheaper getting a decent payg number on a sim off ebay and then get a PAC for that if needed to take across.
  • Thanks for that guys,

I suspected that might be the case. I was a bit confused when I was cancelling about what was going on so just told them to cancel it.

Are they legally allowed to do this? It seems odd that they can re-set your notice period just because you want a code.

I need to keep my number so suggestions on the best course of action please.

    Lol.

  • I wrote a letter documenting all the incompetencies of Three and their customer services at my renewal time and how after spending 5 hours on the phone to them I kept getting offered different offers - all available to new customers, and when an OK tariff did crop up it disappeared all of a suddent after being told it was a loyalty discount :s

Anywho got a call back from a manager called Peter who said he had gone to extreme lengths to bring back this offer from the dead for me. So he took part in a conference call with the sales operative so he could oversee everything that was being said. It did feel rather pressured, which I stated to him and I just said after all this nonsense I've been having with yourselves I've had enough. I'm leaving and going with T-mobile then they came out with the "they are the worst operator" ...

Anywho needless to say retentions never rang me back, so this call was only due to the letter I wrote to customer services.

I wasn't happy with the response they gave so I gave up on them. Needless to say the other contracts I have with them shall be ending soon as well...

If even that didn't work, decent retention deals with 3 are obviously not going to be easy to come by.

Personally, I've given up on the idea that they're going to call me (contract ends on Monday) and have decided to go elsewhere.

Meanwhile, my wife will be giving notice on her contract this weekend. On the off-chance she's offered something good, I'll post it here.

  • I gave my notice on 27 th aug where on ground of changing terms and conditions. And they issued me a PAC ( by text) after a long chat.

they called me 2 days later coming up with some deals.finally i agreed on 18 pound a month on n95 8gb for 18 month on 700 mix and match.they she turn around and said there will be a early cancellation charge of 200+ quid. then i backed off and !!!!ed of as well.i rang 3 later to check is there any early cancellation fee.she said no.

I liked the offer but looks like not gonna have it just bcoz of a stupid women, where she doesnt know what she is doing!

do u think they are going to come back to me. only got 10 days left.
:T:j:mad::p:D;):eek::rotfl::A this are the signs of a lunatic.
  • Gave my 30 days for one of my contracts to go as PAYG on the 21st Aug, I haven't had the phone on since then, but would like a £5 a month for life deal, im actaully getting very disillusioned with 3, so unless they come up with a deal like this then im off to 02.
