I understand although terminating is detrimental to me, I'm wondering what their legal responsibility is. I'm assuming most people agreed to their contracts over the phone and I don't remember anything in the verbal terms and conditions about them being able to alter billing charges. I know I have that option to terminate but lets be real... Unless 3 are the cheapest.

A quick note to those looking for the best deal.

When you phone up to cancel/upgrade the department you speak to only offers deals similar to new customers and can't be very flexible.

It is only after you have cancelled and waited till the last few days that the best deals are offered. These are offered by a dedicated 'retentions' dept. who phone you.You can't phone them. If you've phoned and spoken to someone then you're talking to the wrong person. They either phone you out of the blue or you can phone CS and ask for retentions to call you back (only do this in the last day or two before the end of your notice period).

I was offered all sorts of rubbish deals, and told they were all that would be available to me, the other deals were not around anymore etc. etc.

Last day I ended up with an LG Viewty (could of had an SE 8something or N95) 500 minutes 100 texts for £5 a month for life.

If you're doing a deal when you phone to cancel it won't be the best you could have got.

What was your previous contract and how much, if any, over the included allowance were you using?

Just rang them up, and managed to cancel due to the min rounding :-)
11 months in on a 18 month contract for Talk & Text 600, woop woop :j

Their customer service is crazy, they just seem to yell at you for 5min, not let you say anything, and then asked if you want to stay. If you say no, they yell some more!

    But I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to whoever found this loophole out :T

Just did the same at 15 months on an 18 month contract; although it took 40 minutes, with being put on hold, swapped between operators and them offering the standard "available to all new customers" retention deals:rolleyes:

Had my second 'retentions' call from 3.

Special dept blah blah, valued special non-defaulting customer blah blah. It was a good deal - £5 p.m. for life for 250 mins plus 100 texts, no phone upgrade till month 9 on 12 month contract.

No good to me though as I need 750ish mins a month. He couldn't accept I didn't want it/wouldn't agree to it. Seemed to be the only product he was selling. Told me to take it as a 'second' phone or 'stand-by' phone - NOOOO. When I said I just want ONE phone with 750 mins p.m. - h just said he couldn't do it for less than £20 p.m. When I said I'd seen the 700 mix n match on their website for £21 p.m. plus cashback - he said it had been withdrawn - wasn't there any more. I just checked before posting this - IT IS STILL AVAILABLE.

So good offer on the £5 - but no good to me - and that was the only good deal he had to sell.

Thanks - looks like they are hoping to make as much out of you as they did before!

Are the good offers for people who are upgrading the 2nd or 3rd time.

I was told repeatedly that because this is my first renewal from a 12 month contract the best they could do with a phone was se k660 for mix and match 300mins at £12.50 a month something like that.

    I ended up with a no phone @ £5 a month 250 minutes and 50txts.

Something tells me I should just cancel and wait for the last 3-4 days!!
