My contract expires in october, 18 month 250mins & 1000texts for £20 per month.
3 rang me today offered my a deal New Sony Cybershot phone, 750mins & unlimited texts for £23 per month
BUT
They want me to pay £35 a month, then claim the overpaayment back form them !
Sounds an odd way of doing it to me!
Why not just let me pay £23 intead of going through a claim back palava!
As i was out & about at the time they will be ringing me back at 6.30 tonight to see if i'm interested & to confirm nbank details as it will be a new contract etc
Does it sound dodgy to you, my instinct says it does!
Are you sure it was from 3 as opposed to a phone slammer??0 -
When I was on the 3 website last week it advised they were straight forward and did not do cashback. Can't see it know though. Looks like the site has changed.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

I think youd struggle to find a worse company than 3 out there.
My contract (12 months) should have been up in March 08, but they insisted it was 18 months even though they told me at the time I was on another 12 month extension. I called to cancel yesterday as per my conversations in March and now they say I cant cancel until November.
They offered me the £15 a month deal (where we will cut your phone off when you reach £15 worth of calls each mobth", what the point in thaT???!), and then had to cheek to ask if I knew any family or friends who would want to take my contract and phone on.
I cant wait to leave them, infact if they offered me a free rental and phone and calls, Id still turn them down, conmen!0 -
I was offered, today, a 5megapix sony ericson on 500 mix and match (plus 300 to 3 phones) for £21 a month on an 18 month. I am tempted by the big camera but I did want to pay less- and I hate 18m contracts where the phone is not within guarantee after 12!
Is this a good deal?? I have a couple of months to go but I may just get another contract if cheap enough as the phone I have now is 'quirky'.
(Just checked- that is the standard deal- its not an existing customer offer at all!)0 -
So my three contract (18 mnth) is ending this month,
Im currently paying £15 per month - 500 x network mins , no txts - Three (via E2save)
Spoke to Three retentions and asked for PAC code and really pushed him for the N95 8GB on the £15 contract but he wouldnt budge, only offering the new customer price - £25
Is there anyway to get
a N95 8GB on a 18 month contract for £15 - 500 mins , no txt messages.
Ive looked around but cant find this offer, the best is £22 per month via E2save, and requires redemptions (which i dont mind)
So does anyone have any tips to get Three to do this deal, or any other tips for this phone/.contract
Thanks :money:0 -
I am on £35 a month with 400mins, 250 txt, 25 mms, 25 video and £5 downloads, my 12 month contract is due to end on 9 Sept. I only really use the voice minutes, I rang yesterday and was offered SonyEric K660 with 250 mins for £10 a month, I turned it down and requested my PAC, will they ring me with any better offeres? or do they only ring you back if you actually give 30 days notice and not ask for a PAC like I did?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
I followed the advice from all you helpful folks on this site and cancelled my PAC and changed it to 30 days notice earlier this week in the hope of getting a call from Three. This afternoon I got a call from Cust Services and got offered 250 mins and 50 txts for £5 a month without a phone. I asked if they would also give a phone with that deal and they refused, so I turned it down. Now I am having second thoughts that I should have accepted the offer, what are the chances of them calling me back with a better offer? and how long will I have to wait? also, is there any way I can ring them back and accept the original £5/month offer, will they still give it to me? I will really appreciate all your help.0 -

Definitley dodgy. They should not ask bank details at all unless you wish to change them.
Also they never do cashback as far as I know. They normally just take the money and issue you with an automatic credit.0 -
After much ado Ive got the deal I wanted. I had to really work hard to get it but it did pay off in the end.
I got 18 month contract.
Nokia 95 8GB (even though I already have a phone)
500 minutes
100 texts
50 Video call messages
For £25 per month.
£360.00 automatic credit onto the account.
Im thinking of selling the phone on Ebay for £150 ish. In effect I'll make £60 profit AND have all those minutes/texts......how do they make profit? I guess its to stop their competitors getting an extra customer.
the trick is not to allow them to call you back, just insist that you speak to retentions and if they say 'sorry, they are outgoing calls only' thats rubbish, I spoke to the manager to transferred me from the standard customer services. Remain calm and dont be aggressive and remember they never ever put the phone down on you no matter how annoying you are!0 -
I gave my 30 days notice to cancel on Monday.
Got my first call last night. Offer was £16 p.m. for 500 xnet mins plus 300 3 to 3 mins. Can't remember the phone offered or texts etc.
Was on the £17.50 p.m. ( now £35 because I forgot to cancel ) 750 mins xnet p.m. I never text, video, any other super- dupers. So I'm just wanting a straight 700 + xnet package. The Nokia 6500 slide would do when we get to talking phones ( if we do ).
So what do you think - £16 p.m. 500 xnet ? I didn't think it was anything remarkable.0
