I think I will cancel the deal I agreed for £5 a month 250minutes and 50txts...I want a phone and more minutes for around £5.
What are my chances?0 -
I recieved an upgrade from 3, 300 anytime minutes, 2000 3-3 minutes, 1000 texts and a free ds with a nokia n95 8gb for £24 a month. However I sent this back as I thought I could get myself a bit of a better deal. Rang them back today as today is the day that I needed to give my 30 days notice and initially got offered 500 minutes and unlimited texts with a nokia n95 8gb for £22 a month (i think this is on an 18 month contract, forgot to ask, doh). But then I just said that I needed the bills to be £20 or under with that phone on a similar tariff and she came back with the same offer for £20 which I was pretty impressed with so I agreed but now I'm thinking could I have got even more, lol. Ah well I don't think the offer is too bad, right?0

Just phoned up 3 because my contract ends on 15th september. I was going to go through to the cancellations dept to give my 30 days notice and wait for an offer but decided to see what upgrades dept would offer me.
I was asked what make of phone i was interested in and i told them the n95 8gb, they said that was an expensive phone, checked my account and said oh i can see you're a valued customer, they told me that on my current plan of 500 xnet mins for £15 per month (originally £25 but £10 loyalty discount even though its my first 3 contract) i can have the phone for free.
Asked if there were any other price plans i could change to with txts but i was told that if i didn't stay on my current plan i would lose the great discount i was getting.
N95 8GB brand new
500 xnet mins
18 month contract
For £15 per month
I was quite supprised about the deal they gave me, only been on 3 for 17mnths, only £15 per month plan (+ £5 xseries), £30 for being recommended, went over my minutes only a few times and not by much, sent a few txts per month (used mins instead as txts not included), paid £50 for a k610ir as my original phone v3xr got water damage/condensation.
Phone comes Tuesday :j :T0 -
Lol, I have no idea how some fo you get your offers. I rang up regarding the upgrade I made yesterday and asked if they could do better as I wanted to be paying what I was paying at the moment (£17.50). The offer they were offering me is a couple of posts above.
Anyways they weren't budging and I asked to talk to the manager who also refused to budge and it seemed he really wasn't bothered and couldn't get me off the phone quick enough. So I thought I would call their bluff and say ok I wish to cancel my upgrade then and he said OK and you will not be offered the deal you had previously again.
I even told them about your deal 'Sat384' and they said well give me their number and I'll look on his account and give you the same deal, I'm sure he wouldn't have even if I did have your number the numpty.
I knew I shouldn't have pushed it, what a fool. Ah well what's the likelyhood of them ringing me with an offer within this last month of my contract? Because I was pretty happy with the deal, just wanted to get it a bit of a better price.
Update: Just rang them back to ask for my PAC code as I forgot to ask the last time and this other guy still said he couldn't do any better (I think they've made a note on my account ze gits) so I just said can I reinstate the previous deal and he did that for me very easily (makes me think it was never cancelled in the first place as the phone has already been despatched). Ah well I gave it a try, still think the deals not too bad.0 -
Hi i am just off the phone to 3 i mentioned the N95 8gb 500 mins with unlimited text and a nintendo ds for 22quid,but the guy i spoke to says the nintendos have all gone .So i managed to knock a quid off the deal per month bit disapointed there is no nintendos left. What do we think could i get better?0

Thanks for this post, you had exactly the same deal as I got 16 months ago, so next month I can hopefully get a similar offer0 -
I had a very interesting conversation/argument with a woman at 3 customer services yesterday.
I phoned to cancel my contract - I'm on the £5/month plan (300 mins 150 texts, I think it is) but I need a new handset so I wanted to see what they'd offer when I cancelled.
They asked which handset I was after; I said the Nokia N95 8GB. She tried to talk me into getting a crap Nokia instead; I said I wasn't interested and the N95 was the phone I was getting, whether it was with 3 or not.
So off she went and put me on hold and came back to offer me the 300 mins/texts package with the N95 for £24 a month. I told her I wasn't interested, since this is exactly what they offer new customers, so I could go and get that later if I so wished.
She then got very stroppy, constantly repeating herself and talking over the top of me and asking how I could expect them to do it for any less! Eventually she put me on hold again, only to come back to offer me a £10 credit on my account if I took the £24/month deal. I laughed and said, "so you're offering me around 70 pence off a month over the course of the contract?!"
She was not impressed but then said "It would work out at £23.44 per month."
"Only 66p then!"
She asked how much I wanted in credit, so I told her I was not going to name a price and she'd have to do a lot better and should make me a offer. By now she was seething and asked would I not even consider something like £50. I said she was now getting towards something I'd consider, so then she told me, in that case, I should take out a contract elsewhere!
That's what I called for (35 minutes ago)!Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.:beer:0 -
Just rang them up, and managed to cancel due to the min rounding :-)
11 months in on a 18 month contract for Talk & Text 600, woop woop :j
Their customer service is crazy, they just seem to yell at you for 5min, not let you say anything, and then asked if you want to stay. If you say no, they yell some more!
But I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to whoever found this loophole out :T0 -
I've been dealing with the 'managing directors office' after making a complaint about my service. A representative was apologetic about any mis-information given by 3's sales and customer services and has offered me a reversal of my contract which is currently 500mins/100texts for £10. I was on a 10 month free 12 month contract (£35pm) with 400mins/250texts per month last year although I'm sure she's offering me paying £35pm, double what it would cost a new customer to solve my dissatisfaction with my contract. I was promised this would be put in writing but 3 days later have heard nothing, has anyone else had this kind of offer?
Also does anyone know what the legal standpoint is for 3 forcing per minute billing onto customers with an existing contract? Surely they have an obligation to honour their side of the contract agreed to...0 -
