Hi everyone.........((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one....

Not had time to read the thread yet.........meeting with the library lady this morning, and now we are letting our cheese and sauce sandwiches go down before we go to the library and Mr T's for our fruit top up.

Much nicer morning, it has stopped raining for the time being....it was frosty this morning the barometer had dropped 11 points this morning.

After a huffing and puffing afternoon battling with my machine I completed 1 runner yesterday, i still needs wadding and backing, but I want to get all the tops pieced before I see if I need more wadding.

Nothing really to report, I slept ok last night...................tomorrow will be another sewing afternoon.............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hi Csarina, I hope you don't mind me asking but How do you make the table runners please? I've been toying with the idea of doing some sewing/quilting for a while but have no idea where to begin. Any hints/ advice would be most appreciated. Thanks in anticipation

    :D Afternoon all!

Well it's cold, but bright and sunny so I've not spent my morning on here:D

Done tons of washing and the basket is empty! Downside? Yep the ironing basket is heaving, oh joy:rolleyes: I will not let it get me down, it's too nice a day;)

Just had lunch, roasted toms, onions and peppers with scrambled egg. Was truly yummy. Suppose I should give some thought to what to give the troops tonight:o

((((hugs)))) to all the poorly people. So many viruses around just now, all you can do is rest up and keep warm.

dlb, well done! And yes, I'm afraid we must have smelt like that too:o Now I know why people knew I smoked even when I didn't have a cigarette in my hand, so that's one mystery solved:rotfl: tattycath, I notice in your signature you've recently given up, are you doing OK?

Like Aussie said, twink and kyle are you OK? You're missed:smiley:

Well I'm off, I'm going to go out into the garden and bin some of the garden rubbish before tomorrow's collection.

    Hello all.
Lovely blue skies and sunshine................oops ! sun just disappeared.
Been and had my hair done (part of voucher OH bought me for xmas) been to the bank, fell into charity shop and painfully resisted buying a set of curtains (they'd have made a lovely throw), bought some bits for xmas baskets, plus sweatshirt for me - bit naughty but felt like a bit of retail therapy for me just as a change...................lol
Dinners all organised..................steak pie (sorry - its somerfields cheap one), put in neat pile what I need to take to mums............medication/book/bus timetable in case I miss one/phone charger and laid out on the bed what to pack.............only going from tomorrow till Friday but always like to have alternative jumper/trousers for some reason.
Thats been my day and the rest I'm afraid will be a bit on the lazy side.
Late night last night waiting up for our lad to come back from his Mums after missing two busses.............he didn't arrive so that was late night for nothing !!
Mental note to self to have real set to next week de-cluttering and trying to have better housework routine. Once I've been to see Mum maybe I'll feel more like it.

Hope you're having a good day

Hugs (((((((((( :o ))))))))))))) to all those who need them

Oh, bit miffed at having to pay extra £4 for Nat.Express ticket just because I'm coming back on Friday !! Will I never learn ?

    Well... update on my day!

I'm half way through making a batch of Curry Queen's curry sauce base. I doubled up the recipe, so all I can say is thank heavens for the slicing attatchment on my Kenwood, as I had to slice 2kg of onions!

Got a batch of carrot cake cupcakes in the oven as I type. I used this recipe http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Carrot-Cake-III/Detail.aspx but halved the quantities (18 slices is a bit much) and have done it in muffin tins instead of as a giant cake. I hope they turn out ok!
  • woohoo - just got a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge back of cotton yarn from the charity shop... will make some lovely blankets for pressies. I think I will get two decent sized ones out of it and all of that for £4. lovely colours as well - light cream, green, blues - should see me through project wise for quite some while.

Hi - I'm new to the OS board.... normally lurk on DFW.

I'm trying to make more use of my slow cooker - it's not a modern one, only has 2 settings, low and high but I used it the other day, I cooked a beef brisket and got 2 meals out of it, so want to try more.

I can't seem to find any recipes anywhere, is there a thread for them? Or can anyone suggest somewhere? I'd like to try making a chilli 2moro, I have mince, chilli powder, chopped toms, kidney beans, onion.

    Thanks for any help xx
