    Hi

Big hugs to those who are unwell and who are looking after poorly sick family members.

dlb Well done, you're doing so well and it must be so hard.

Had a bit of a drama this morning whilst walking the girls to school. We often walk up in a group with neighbours and one of my friend's has her mum staying with her so she wanted to walk her grandaughter upto school with us. Well she tripped over in the playground and landed really badly. My friend was near hysterical as was her daughter and the kids on the yard were all gathering around. So Headteacher comes out, sorts out pupils, phones ambulance etc
I spoke to my friend before and it seems her mum has broken her upper arm in a 'spectacular way' according to the hospital and needs an operation! All that from wanting to help walk her grandaughter to school, who by the way is having her seventh birthday today!

After all of this I then went to help at our church drop-in. After that I came home and cleaned the house and I'm now exhausted! I'm off out in a minute to collect the girls from school.
I'm going to make a gammon pasta bake for tea using some of the meat from my huge £1 bargain gammon joint bought a few weeks ago. After cooking it I froze lots of it in little bags in the freezer and so far we've had about 4 meals from it and there's still lots of it left.:D
I'm in work tomorrow and we're having a teddy bear's picnic (inside) and we'll be 'going on a bear hunt...'. Then on Thursday I'm on a (boring) course.
Have a good/safe rest of the day!
  • Afternoon everyone

Back from work, spag bol smells devine in the SC, and I have put the 2nd load of washing on for the day.

DD is currently on her Wii and I'm having a quick surf before I make a start on the kitchen, and possibly making packed lunches for tomorrow - tuna and salad rolls.

I'm gradually getting back into a routine - but half of me is still on Hawaii time ;)

DLB - that's excellent news :T I'm looking forward to starting stopping next month (in a strange kind of way)

Welcome tigzem - you'll like it here :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
  • Afternoon all

    Hi to tigzem and welcome.

I see that lots of you have been busy. I was *supposed* to be off today but my boss asked me to go into the office as we were getting a visit from a Compliance Officer (I work in financial services) to give us feedback on recent work submitted. So, I got to the office at 8.45, person turns up at 9.30, leaves at 11.30 and didn't speak to me once. Still, I got some overtime out of it and managed to leave at 12.30.

Got home and put a Morrisons Chilli Wedge Melt on to cook. Halfway down the bowl I found a big hair! Had to traipse down to Morrisons to log the complaint, get a refund (well, they gave me twice the price back) and have them promise that it would be investigated and reported back to me. So, my day off hasn't exactly gone smoothly.

I did manage to look through all the stuff I have bought in the sales and made a list. I'm better organised than I thought. :j Also tidied my room a bit more - though DS's stuff is making it looked very untidy and cramped. Can't do much about that until his bed is delivered on 29th.

Dinner is roast chicken with jacket spuds, veg and a spicy plum sauce that I found lurking in the freezer. Will make a chicken, sweetcorn and mushroom pie later too for tomorrow night.

kyle, twink, anniestar and everyone else MIA - please post soon. Hope all is well with you.

    xx

Afternoon gang, hope everyone is well and warm today. Well os far so good computer wise(so it should be with all the money and time lavished on it lately) What happened(sorry this is boring) on the 2nd Jan I tried to get on here but it kept throwing me off so I decided to post later that day. Anyway DH was on for quite a bit as the SATS board has changed and there are tons of admin that needs to be done. So on the 3rd(I DID tell you it waas boring) DH decided that we were going to the TC (we had planned to go ot town but still didn't have the car) we went and had a FANTASTIC day-got some cards in WHS, a L42 compilation( Nothing new but I cant resist ANYTHING by my boys:rotfl: ), some Boots bargains, and just had a wander arround. Then DH took me to La tasca and we had a lot(yes A REAL LOT) of yummy food, nice day, came home shattered and didn't attempt to switch the 'puter on at all. Friday morning. Switch computer on-HUGE Smell of burning:eek:   and ...................... nothing. SO after all the trouble in Aug(trading standards etc) and then having to get Wes in to try to clear all the strange things on the computer last month didn't know what to do. PLUS....Still didn't have the car back. Phoned Trading standards to see what thet reccommended-they were very intrested in the work carried out and asked us to take it to this guy that compiles their reports(but no car:eek:   ) To cut a very long story short got car back on the Sunday, DH not in school on monday as the updating of the heating system had not been finished(so no money either) so took it in on Monday.Interesting. Seems the "new" power source replaced in Aug was neither new nor suitable for the intended use. We then took it to be mended-suffice to say that 4 more visits back and forth and still no working computer. Last week in desperation(after enduring the great fun of sitting on the floor with the phone in my hand talking to the enginerer for over an hour plugging stuff in and out and the computer still not working) I phoned someone from the yellow pages that will come to your house. He was a bit taciturn and offhand but at least got it working. So was back online Sat just in time for the level 42 dates to be announced:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
So Ima going to Liverpool, Birmingham, Sheffield,Lecister(sp-sorry)i IPSWICH and BRIGHTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
You will notice one omission-Yes despite starting the tour in MANCHESTER I CAN'T GET A DECENT TICKET:eek: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Am still looking at Carlisle, Newcastle and Glasgow. I am very exicted about the Ipswich/Brighton combination- have never been to either before. Got the first 4 lots of tickets today.
I was in two minds about posting again to be honest- I misswed you all so much and it made me reailise just how much I rely on you and how lonley I am in the "real world" and I felt guilty for not posting and I felt I had let my friends its just whati was feeling) DH asked me why I wasn't telling him about what everybody had been up to and I told him how i was feeling. He made the point that if they were friends they would understand and if they weren't then what did it matter. It made sence to me so here i am. I am prettyy down but things will improve. Honest. Anyway, sorry for being so boring, thanks for being there, and just THANK YOU.
HUGS to everyone sorry for illnesses/birthdays/wins(have you won that camel yetCatOwen???:rotfl: ) Hope all the poorlies feel betterand that you have a fab evening.Loads of love Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

dlb congratulations am so proud of you.

    Afternoon all,

Had a busy day....collected DGD1 to look after while 38 weeks pregnant DD2 has a rest, collected DGS2 from school, home, get him to change his clothes and clean up, off to collect DGS1 from school, take DGS2 to birthday party...all three of them arguing about important things like who is biggest, tallest, fairest, darkest, hungriest, best, worst and anything else you care to think off...all at the top of their voices! Home via Lidl, where I just bought the beetroot, bananas and milk that I needed....they are watching Shrek 1, 2 or 3 at the moment and silence reigns...OH cooking dinner so I am free for a few minutes...hurray!!

Dlb...you are now an ex-smoker and don't forget it...you are doing wonderfully well...and yes, you did smell like that!

Hugs to all who are not feeling well....Jayward, Anniestar and Hilstep and anyone else I haven't mentioned...congratulations on the L42 tickets Ann.

Off to have dinner now...all prepared for me!
