They probably rely on the fact that it is very difficult to tell the difference between genuine leather and faux leather these days.
  • I am at the end of my tether with Dreams Beds! The problem has been the slats not fitting my new bed and my wife and i falling through the bed every few days!! Here is the e-mail i have sent recently, to which i have had no reply since 3 weeks ago!!
'I am 40 years old. I have a back condition hence why i came to Dreams Farnborough and purchased a TV bed with a memory foam mattress costing over £1200. On the day it was delivered two very unfriendly men came into my home took my old bed away and delivered a bed that was faulty. The fault was corrected two weeks later because i changed the two flat battery's in the controller for the operation of the bed. Two weeks after this the slats in the new bed collapsed through the bed with my wife and i both asleep in the bed at 03.00 am. I have now complained 5 times. I have had 2 engineers call me explaining that the fault was not with any electrical parts and they were dumbfounded as to why they had been passed the case! On Saturday i was called by a very rude sarcastic Asian sounding woman whom did not even introduce herself as working for Dreams so i had no idea what she was talking about an email i had sent!! I swore at her and i am sorry for swearing however she said that nothing could be done for another bloody week!! I have sent photographs of the problem and explained that my wife and i are sleeping on the floor but she still sarcastically responded with a comment on my email being 'oddly' worded!!

NOW CAN SOME BODY THERE PLEASE DO SOME THING ABOUT THE SLATS IN MY £1500 BED PLEASE!!! I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS SHODDY SERVICE!!! AND FEEL THAT NOW SOME COMPENSATION FOR THIS VERY DIFFICULT AND UNHEALTHY SITUATION. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SORTED OUT WEEKS AGO. I AM UNDERGOING PHYSIO THERAPY AND AM HAVING TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR!!!'

I have no idea what i have to do now?? £2000 bed with the wrong size slat's. :0(

Hi I am sure you are right, but they advertise it as Leather, not Faux Leather or Vinyl or Bi cast Leather but Leather. I now have documents from Dreams saying it is Bi-cast Leather from China and if I had known I would not have purchased the product.
    They are conning people.
I am now looking at checking the PVC thickness and if it is over 0.15% of the total thickness they can't legally call it Leather.
I am not sure yet if it is legal to sell this material in the UK as leather but I will be finding out.
    Very disgusted and angry.
  • I need to make a claim on a mattress purchased about 6 years ago. I purchased the 10 year guarantee at the time, but as I cannot find the slip of paper with the 'unique number' they gave me back then they say they cannot do anything as I have no proof. Surely they have a record their end to say I purchased it, otherwise how would they know the unique number on my piece of paper was genuine?

    Any thoughts?

Reject the goods as unfit for purpose, and get a refund. Then you will be able to get far better quality, at a much lower price from somewhere else.

This is what they rely on half the time.

If you read their terms and conditions then you may find that it isn't even worth trying to claim on the guarantee.

It is illegal to sell Bicast Leather as leather in the UK. It would need o be labelled Bicast Leather or Laminated Leather to be acceptable.
You will need a report with approved test results to stand up in court
    Hope this helps

It seems Dreams rep on the forum has done a runner? Maybe he is no longer required after the company went bust and was sold to another investment firm.

Dreams customer service reading from the complaints on the forum will always remain a DREAMMMMMMMMMMMM.

He has probably lost his job, as customer service doesn't appear to be a priority for Dreams.
