Bought a bed from dreams. In store the Sales Advisor advised that a slatted base would be suitable and that there would be no need to ugrade to sprung slats which wouldve cost us £50 more.

Bed arrived on time, however when we put the bed together we noticed a crack in the foot end of the bedframe. We continued to assemble the bed to make sure everything was in place, but when we fitted the slats as there was not centre piece for extra support the bed did not feel very safe. Later we found that as the slats were so bendy there was a dip in the centre of the mattress when lying on the bed.

I called dreams customer service and explained what had happened and the advisor said they wuld send the sprung slats - free of charge, and replace the foot end with free assembly.

Im happy with that, just hoping all goes to plan as i see on here that they may be going into administration. Fingers Crossed.

What type of mattress is it?
  • I ordered two tempur matresses and two tempur pillows on 30/9/12 from your clearance outlet in Barking.

I initially went in to buy just one matress (king size) but ended up buying two as I was promised 70% discount if went for 2 instead of 1.

Also, as I hadn't moved into my new place already (I was getting the keys only after a few days), I told your staff (Gary and his colleague) that I shall confirm if the super king size mattress only if it fits my new bedroom. He said he will be happy to exchange it for a king size with the 70% discount if I pay the difference, if it is over the price of the super king size I ordered.

As feared the cot dimensions were of a king size and hence I called Gary and cancelled the super king size mattress I bought within a couple of days. I have picked up only the king size tempur mattress and not yet collected the super king one.

As there was no tempur king size matress with him, he asked me to wait until one turns up. In the mean time I went away to India on an emergency and came back towards the end of December.

I have been following Gary since then, to see if there is one available in king size for me to come and pick up. I recently even went into store to check if one is in and today (18/03) when I checked, I found there is one Tempur Original Revelation mattress is available. However I have been told that they can only offer 50% and cannot honour 70% originally promised.

I am happy to buy the exchange king size mattress by paying the difference in amount only if I am offered the promised discount of 70%, if not, I want my money back as there are other Dreams clearance outlets/centres with tempur mattresses that offer 70% discount in the area from where I can buy the same mattress.

Could you please treat this as an urgent query and instruct Mr Simon (the manager in Barking customer service centre) to honour the discount promised?

    Kind Regards

We placed an order for a bed from Dreams at the end of February, paying in full on a credit card, not realising they were already in administration. Nothing was mentioned at the time.
We have since had emails from them saying the change in ownership will cause"a slight delay" and that they are already acquired by Sun European Partners.
They claim that "You will be contacted by Simmons directly in the next 14 days". Simmons is the manufacturer of the bed.

    Later

I've contacted Simmons, the manufacturers, who say that Dreams will contact us about the delivery. Not good, they are contradicting each-other. Does anyone know what Simmons stance on Dreams is? Are they, like Myers, refusing to supply?
    They claim that "
I can confirm that we are supplying all of Dreams’ orders as quickly as possible." but this could mean anything from "you will get it next week" to "not until Dreams settle all their accounts in full"
    Sent from my abacus.

Save your money by cancelling your order and buying a better brand for a fraction of the price.

There are loads of threads on MSE where the general view is that Tempur are over rated, and very over priced.

It does sound like Simmons are holding back on deliveries until accounts have been settled.

If I were you I would try to get a full refund, and then go somewhere that doesn't over charge by at least 100%.

I ordered a new matress from Dreams a short time before they went into Administration. I wasn't aware of the potential issues - obviously hadn't done my research

However, they kept me informed with texts / emails throughout the order period (I'd had to specify a particular day for delivery because of work and it was about 2 weeks from order to delivery date). The matress was a stock item so no need to have anything manufactured and it arrived on the day they said it would and their delivery contractors were excellent - ringing as promised with a two hour time slot and then ringing again to ask if they could come slightly early as they were ahead of schedule.

The matress is wonderful, I'm very pleased with it and I hope everyone who's having problems with their deliveries gets the issues resolved soon.

It's not just delivery issues. It's poor after sales service (which happened before they went into administration), and sky high prices.

Thanks Jamie, when I asked for the order to be cancelled, the store are not agreeing to it even though its only been partially fulfilled. when asked for the swap over for another king size mattress with the promised discount of 70% they are asking me to wait until one turns up which warrants a 70% discount.
  • HI ALL

I spent £3,000 on beds and a mattress. I was told that I could exchange the mattress if it was uncomfortable within 40 nights. The store manager specifically said when I asked him that if the exchange mattress was cheaper then I would get a full refund on the price difference. Now Customer services are saying that the Store Manager got it wrong and I will not get any refund leaving me £400 SHORT!!

I will be taking them to court and so will keep you updated. Does anyone know where I stand on this? Surely they have to stand by what the store manager said who is still saying it. In fact ive recorded him saying it!!!

I wish I had read all these reviews before I bought from Dreams.

    Hi all,

I recently ordered a bed from Dreams, i spent nearly £800 and was told the bed would be delivered the next week, i was then called up to say it would be ten days later than expected which was fine, the day of delivery i arranged to have the carpets cleaned and the bed put together by a handyman i know, the bed turned up and we opened the packages in the room the bed was going into, there was severe damage to one side piece the headboard and the bit the mattress was to sit on was missing, i re ordered the bed through customer services who said this was the only thing they could do which took another week, this meant me sleeping on the sofa for a week with kidney problems. When they put the new bed together they discovered the mattress was too small, so they re-ordered another one which took another four weeks.

I contacted them about this requested some compensation for the fact that my bed was not complete and all the hassle it took to get another one and they said it was my fault because i had opened the bed myself so they could not be held responsible for any damage, even though their delivery people had put the packaging in the room themselves, i mean how are you supposed to know if there is damage unless you open the boxes which weren't damaged themsselves.

I would like to know if anyone else has had similar problems with dreams and how they resolved them? They didn't even mention the mattress issue.

Hope you have something in writing before even thinking about wasting your time trying for court.
