  • Hi all
Hooray, someone finally turned up from Freecycle & took all my rubbish. Yhat means I now have room to sort out the next lot, lol.
We have friends popping over this evening, I hope the lodger has finished singing by then or they might run away.
I hope everyone is having a sensational Saturday.
    Hugs Hester

    Afternoon

Grotty miserable day down here in Sussex.

So far, I've been into town to do a little shop for a few bits and then spent the last half an hour in the kitchen make chocolate brownies curtesy of a receipe I found on OS - can't reember who to say thanks too - but they are so delicious and I feel very sick for gorging on them! :embarasse :embarasse

DW, WM and TD are all on and have been for the past while. I am going to tidy the kitchen and change by bedding cos I like it when it is nice and tidy and smells fresh! Lounge could do with a blast of my dyson too.

Not sure about dinner, but I do have a load of fresh veggies - might try and potato & onion layered thing with veg on the side and more chocolate brownie... and I have an application form to complete for a job that I would really really like and would mean working 3 days a week for the same money as working a 5 day week... :T ... best tror off and do these jobs!

    TTFN

Oh dear.................just had some bad news.............first hubby's sister died yesterday morning. It was on the cards as she's been ill for about two years but still leaves me on a bit of a 'downer', especially with my Mum being so poorly.
OH came in from seeing his mates and he's on a 'downer' too. First off he says he thinks hes got a cold coming, then hopes its not this dreadful bug.......then says he feels depressed and needs reading glasses !! Follows this with saying he suddenly feels 'old'.................(he's 55 this year). His Mum has heart condition as well as crumbling bone disease though she seems ok and cheerful but I suppose what with my Mum, plus me feeling depressed about her, and it being a very dull January, hes bound to feel a bit below par. Now he's gone down to Boots to see if he can get some reading glasses !!
I rang my eldest son............he can pretty soon cheer me up rattling on about all the weird and wonderful things he can now do with his new computer, plus giving me update on grandson and what he's up to. He was my little bit of 'tonic'....................trying now to think of something to give OH a bit of a lift. I know he hates this time of year........cold and gloomy, same every year, but never says much about it normally.
And I've not heard from lady on freecycle about my curtains and stuff..........but I know I'm expecting a lot to have an answer straight away.

Sorry...............bit of a moaning post.................must remember to count my five blessings..........................:T (actually there are more than 5 and I should always remember than.

I thought I posted on here earlier but it seems to have gone into space....Oh well.............

Changed the bed this morning, its all washed and dried. I hate ironing the duvet set we had on this week, so have sprayed it with water and rolled it up, hopefully it will be dampish when I iron it tomorrow...........

I have been doing some designs for various things for our craft fair this afternoon, have finish an order, so its ready to go off.OH is bowling so all afternoon to myself,........GREAT.........

Fish and chips for supper tonight, I have taken a chicken out for tomorrow. I have found a butcher who sells free range chickens for £5, so will buy one, but that means we will only have chicken on Sunday once a month from now on....................

Nothing much to report, still no money from the annuity, another phone call on Monday by the looks of it.....I have drafted a letter to the Financial Ombudsman if we do not get a satisfactory answer on Monday.....my patience is wearing very thin right now.

    Cheers............off for a cuppa................

PP I enquired about flights to Tampa in Florida via New York from our local airport and for Jan it was £460, I think you could get a good £100 off that if you are flying from either Heathrow or Gatwick............we wanted to go via NY as we want a stop over on the way back, plus I HATE Heathrow, getting there is a pain and the queues are dreadful....
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
  • I've just had a really amusing conversation with the lodger. I was working out next years budget adding in the extra costs for council tax, gas, electric & water, they've gone up about £48 a month.
The lodger said she can't understand why I'm so poor & that I should apply for a few credit cards, that way I'd always have money to spend when I wanted things. I explained that I'd have no way of repaying them, but she said all I had to do was to keep taking out more & more cards & increasing the limit on them all & then I couls use one card to pay of the other & I could save all my wages instead of spending it all on bills! Now why didn't I think of this before, silly me I've been worrying about money all this time & there was a simple solution staring me in the face!!!

    Afternoon All

Loads of washing and ironing done, ironing basket is clear just waiting for some shirts to dry but will probably do them tomorrow. Am sitting here having a surf whilst watching Yanks.

All my holiday clothes are ready now, just realised that I need some new underwear so will have to fit in a visit to Marks. Still need to sort out dd's though then organise all the holiday paperwork.

Need to be more organised this time as well as we are staying in a hotel near Gatwick wednesday night.

    Have a great Saturday evening.

    Hi!

Big hugs to mary43 and hope that you all feel happier soon.

Big hugs to all of those feeling unwell, which seems like quite a few on here.

Well I've had quite a lazy day today. DH took DD1 to orchestra and I had my usual mini Saturday lie-in, which was nice.;) DH went over to do a few jobs for his mum and the girls and I stayed at home as it's been raining here.
I bought quite a bit of stuff in the Boots 75% sale this week using a combintaion of (pigsback) vouchers and xmas saving money and I've got about 7 binbags full of presents for next xmas, birthdays, mother's day etc :D So I had a good sort out of all of my goodies this morning.
I've got a few items on ebay too which are due to finish this weekend so I've been packaging them up, more decluttering of old clothes, toys etc

I've made some meatballs and tomato sauce for tonight's tea and we'll be watchting tv no doubt, if I ever get off here!
    Have a good evening.
