I cannot see there would be any problems with anything that has been done to help MOT as a result of this thread and its predecessors. As far as I can tell the only thing MOT has ever ASKED for is a shoulder to lean on in during a very difficult time. Any help she has had, be it support during her meetings/appeals or offers of help to physically move her out of her current accomodation, to looking and trying to think of things that may help or whatever is all VOLUNTARILY given by others as a CHOICE. No one is forcing anyone to help in any way they cannot or do not wish to.

MOT and family... I hope your move goes well and fingers crossed for good news on the flat front!

Just wanted to wish MOT, I-T & everyone else helping over the weekend good luck. I know it's going to be stressful, but I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible given the circumstances.

I am posting anon as do not wish to be shot!

I followed the MOT's story from pretty much day 1 and whilst I feel every sympathy for her and her children and wish them all the best with securing a long term home I also feel the need to voice my opinion.
I personally also think the support from this post and the others has been amazing, the amount of people giving up their own time and putting their own efforts into helping others is amazing. I only wish that someone had done this for me and my family when we were homeless and pennyless.
I believe that whilst the above is all amazing, everyone is entitled to their own opinion of things and am a strong believer that everyone has a right to voice their opinions.
In my own view opinions of a view of someone that people either choose to ignore or act upon.
So what I am trying to say is I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, if you dont agree with someones opinions then dont shoot them down, just ignore them. Responding just gives people more fuel and then everything starts getting nasty.

However, my PM has been misinterpreted; no surprise there then, and now V has seen fit to post an extract on here. If that isn't abuse of the ethos of MSE then I don't know what is. I now suggest we don't give this vindictive person any more of our valuable time. Actually, I feel inclined to disclose the identity of the person to whom I sent my PM in the first place (which was in answer to a message they posted). You know who you are; why did you see fit to disclose it to Viktory? What did you hope to achieve? Or have you achieved it? Well, if you have then you must feel very proud. Sleep well.

But it has been categorically stated that no one is giving monetary donations.

I also give to charity but to registered ones not anonymous people on internet forums. Shelter is a charity very close to my heart, donations to them benefit lots of the homeless.

viktory, who appointed you as my guardian? Why do you feel the need, or feel you have the right, to protect me from myself; you know nothing about me and to assume that you know how I should be conducting my financial affairs is presumtious. You say that we don't actually know MoT, whereas the truth is that you don't know any of us, so to tell us what we can and can't do with our own money is bang out of order.

cpsandman, I agree that people are entitled to their opinion. MSE has set up this board as a place to support people with debt problems. People come on this board because they need support, in some cases they are suicidal and so these threads are for support not discussion. The proper place to discuss homeless issues is in Discussion Time in The Arms. Viktory has come over to this thread because his thread opened on this topic was closed.

The PM from Italian Tony was to me, so that is that cleared up. As he has brought it into the arena i will say that he was asking me to edit a post I made on Viktory's thread, presumably because he felt it reflected badly on the issue of donations. The only reason I mentioned it to viktory was because she PM'd me asking what I was talking about re the donation issue.

Disclose away. I have not copied and pasted the whole PM, I have just taken a small portion of it, as ampersand deleted my PM to her (thus giving her the option to discuss this in private) and also chose to deny that monies were being offered and accepted. I did give her the chance to respond in private, she chose to ignore me. Her choice. Anyway, abuse have the PM, along with the many posts offering money to MOT, now and they can make the final decision now they have all the facts.

Not that it is anything to do with you, but I also haven't donated anything to MOT, but if I wanted to, that is my business not yours.
