I don't need your pity. As I said, although my thread was closed, MSE Andrea did say that unusually they were not deleting the thread and if I wished, I could copy and paste and start a new thread. I chose not to do so.

As I have said all along, I wish MOT and her family all the very best. I simply do not think that accepting money from other people that may be equally hard up is the best way to go about it.

That was foolish. Would you rather I copied and posted the PM onto this thread? Please do check with Italian Tony before you answer, as it was a PM from him that I am referring to. Actually, it is against MSE rules to show PM's on an open thread so, I could forward it straight to abuse. I think it proves my point re the donations situation. They can then make a decision armed with all the facts.

If – note I said IF – if anyone decided to help MOT, they did so out of the kindness of their hearts, and not because MOT asked, expected or coerced anyone into it. And IF you read the posts you would see that the offers of help have come in the form of people looking for lists of local housing associations and vacant flats, offering to drive across the country to help move, offering storage space and making suggestions as to other avenues MOT could use to find a new house.

But no doubt all this falls on deaf ears, so as other posters have said, if you don't like what you see here, then kindly take yourself off to another forum...

From what I can tell, someone just doesn't like the show of community spirit and banding together of people which is DFW. If I could I would full heartedly and openly give the Penny2myName to MoT, unfortunately this will leave me nameless, but I can give all the moral support I have within me to MoT and anyone else that needs it.

Recently I have read posts where someone thanks another member for sending baby clothes and food.Is this ok? Another was to a link to raise money for someone with a health problem? what about this?Another person sent another MSEr a hard to find magazine.Someone else sent a cookbook they no longer required.I've heard of Vouchers being passed on.These have all been offers to help.Are they all wrong then Viktory? Posters on here have been helping with removals, telephone calls to estate agents.Practical help.Why not help? why is it you feel its so wrong?

How about the Sealed Pot Challenge. People ACTIVELY encouraging other people to put money in a bottle. Gasp! The horror. Who decided to appoint Viktory as the guardian of this board? OK, enough is enough. I have had countless PM's from people offering their support to me - one even called you all a lynch mob. I am not the only person to have reported this thread either. I have given my reasons for being uncomfortable with the donations, but to no avail.

I have decided to go through the thread, find every post that refers to donations being made and send them to abuse. I will also send the PM received from Italian Tony, that clearly states that he persuaded MOT to accept monetary donations from MSE'ers to pay the deposit and advanced rent.

Abuse can then decide on what, if any, action to take. I will stand by their decision, even if I disagree with it.
