:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Not heard that one, I must have dozed off in Sunday school. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbours wife, (house, field, slave, donkey, in fact anything belonging to your neighbour - the list is extensive) now that one I have heard.
Perhaps that is what you meant?0 -
Several months ago, via a pm I was asked by a regular contributor to another board if I would donate to a life enhancing aid for another member of the forum. This I gladly did. The money duly left my account, but on arrival was not required and the offer made to return it to me and to others who had also sent money. I have also followed a link to just giving to donate to a charitable cause.
I am typing tonight having just got back from having settled my darling husband in hospital having had a scary episode this evening; he will be OK I am sure. On getting home (11.30pm ) my (fabulous) neighbour has fed and looked after all of my pets so my first act has been to check this thread to see if MoT is OK. This lady and her children matter to me, I care about them, they are not my nearest and dearest but I have 'shared her ups and downs' over the last few months. As a faceless fellow citizen I am glad to be able to give direct support where I feel public policy does not reflect my priorities.
This site is a fantastic social movement, enabling self help . Self help takes time to bring a resolution. Where there is an urgent need, by definition there isn't the time. I have debts, but also a lot of income. It is my choice to give support and gifts to causes, friends, real and virtual as I see fit, just as it has been my neighbours choice to help me tonight.
As a child I was taught the parable of the good Samaritan - tonight I am reminded by my neighbour, and this thread, that the kindness of strangers comes in many forms and we all need it at some point in our lives.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! So eliquently put!!! I've been trying all evening to find a level headed way of expressing my thoughts... and there you go and do it in one!!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! AGAIN!!!!0 -

I can offer my assistance with catering....Proud to be a Clob Clubber :beer:0 -
Oh for Gods sake! How many more times do I have to explain to you people? Do you not read this thread?
1) Homeless issues are not being discussed - ergo, no need to go to DT
2) My thread was closed but MSE Andrea said we could come here to discuss MOT - so here we are.
3) I could have started a whole new thread and chose not to.
Understand?
No! Why are you still bleating on!!!!!!!!0 -
Well I so wish V 's thread hadn't been moved here.
To reiterate - I always thought this site and the forums were about mutual support...
Ok we may be hijacked from time to time and then we send pictures of tinned meat!
I didn't (still don't think) I am naive or stupid and admit many of us on this thread may be like me and be 'easily led' at times (that's why I have debt!) an outsider from any situation may be able to offer an unbiased view but that could be pointed out quickly and nicely.
I came across this thread & Mot's situation quite late in the game and she has my best wishes and whatever support I can offer - as I can't visit to help
If I choose to support by a donation of say my bingo winings I will do so happily but please note .. I have never been asked to do this.
IMHO we are looking to help MOT move on.. not to look back, not to judge and not to win very silly 'play by the book' points!
and quite frankly I couldn't be ar**d or feel the need to post just to let other people read my opinions about a theoretical issue.
People matter.
Mot & her twins matter
and mutual support matters.0 -
Sorry Mot, It & Twins - the thread moves so fast I'm not even sure if your lights are on.
Whatever!
Just to say still thinking of you
Take care

That was foolish. Would you rather I copied and posted the PM onto this thread? Please do check with Italian Tony before you answer, as it was a PM from him that I am referring to. Actually, it is against MSE rules to show PM's on an open thread so, I could forward it straight to abuse. I think it proves my point re the donations situation. They can then make a decision armed with all the facts.
Well all I can say to that is good luck to Viktory trying to PROVE that anyone has ACTUALLY donated any money! You won't be getting a look at my bank account any time soon! :rolleyes:If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
i am getting really confused here.I cant see where there has been any abuse on this thread .As was stated in an earlier thread mot has never asked for anything except emotional support and advise. This what this site is for not for judgement. Shoudnt we all be following those rules and not arguing with each other. At the end of the day we should all be hoping for favourable outcome for mot and the twins. This has gone on for so long now and I for one donot want to see a mother and children on the streets. If we have helped to stop this happening by any legal means possible can only be seen as a good thing. It might also make the powers that be sit up and take notice.England is supposed to be a modern and caring country.is it?
