DRA is a rent guarantee scheme, dealing with over 18's who are homeless, unemployed or on low pay and are single.

Homeless clients find their own suitable accommodation in the private rented sector. Rent in advance is paid by DRA, as required and a guarantee given in lieu of deposit.

After a tenancy is established, a "linkworker" system ensures clients are supported and helped, or directed to agencies which can assist with their problems.

An Interview Session for prospective clients is held from 9.00am-12noon on Wednesdays at Bury Lodge, 1 Queensway, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1HT. No appointment is necessary.

It went well, must admit it was a better time than being woken at 6.15am to do the interview at 6.40am! No feed back as yet, but they will be in touch again later this week.

Hi MOT hope your ok today, remember it doesnt matter what negative comments you receive on here your "friends" know your full story.
This is a support thread if people wish to discuss the whys and wherefores they should go to the discussion thread (DT).
I hope you hear some news today about somewhere to live, I have never been in your position but my brother is homeless (he has no children though) and its a terrible position to be in (he is intentionally homeless) but I still really feel for him because although he is intentionally homeless there is nothing he could have done to prevent it and he never would have chosen it.I cant take him in even temporarily as it would ruin his chance of getting a home.
I think people should not say anything if they only say negative comments, they will not stop me supporting you.This is a human cause, no one can see 2 children on the streets and say that is fair and just.
