he used to have his surgeries once a month at the new building on Southmoor Road, hemsworth, but not sure if still does as now escaped to 'Yvette Cooper' land, seem to remember it tells you in the local rag though

Earwig - I would also like to say that for me this thread is not about having a go at why MOT is homeless - it is about making sure that a mother and her children are not on the streets as of next Monday. That is the reason so many people are and have helped. It is not about you and how long you have had to wait it is about MOT and her situation - it is not about you. Some people always have to make everything about themselves but sometimes it isnt, it is about somebody who needs help. I would liken your arguement to those who run up debts and then can not pay - they come here for help and not judgement. Should they be refused any help because it is their own fault. I will answer that myself - NO they deserve to be treat as human beings who need help. If you are sick of being on the waiting list then that is your problem and nothing whatsoever to do with MOT. I hope you do manage to get yourself and your family accomodation and I wish you all the best in your search.

Morning all,
This has taken me a while to compose in my head but I just wanted to say that I am saddened by the one or two negative comments posted on here over the last couple of days. These people are of course allowed their opinions but I feel that those who have followed my 'story' from the start will appreciate that this was initially a 'cry for help' and from then on it just brought out the goodness in the majority of people who have posted on here for which we will always be eternally grateful. These negative posts have knocked my confidence and I feel that I am being 'judged' which was something I never wished to encounter. This has been and still is a very difficult time for myself and the twins and we are so very grateful to those who do continue to support us.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
MOT I have followed your thread for some time and in my opinion you have behaved with great dignity and I admire your courage. Anyone can take a knock but it takes grace and grit to get back up again and move on. You have done that and are still doing that.
To the negative posters - wow your brave, I bet you are good at kicking people when they are down too, must make you feel very superiorThe truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

MOT, for those of us that have followed your story from the very first day, and have had read every post, not skimming and missing pertenant facts , know the extent of your difficulties, probably not the full extent, as I'm sure there are things still that you have been unable to share with us.
We know you are strong, you have had to be, to put up with what life has thrown at you lately, I, for one am sure I could not have coped with your problems had they been thrown at me, and that MSE is part of that coping process for you, even to get things out and down on 'paper' must help.
Keep you chin up girl, there is light at the end of the tunnel, its just that some one has turned the dimmer switch down.0 -

The thread moves on quickly, but in answer to those who disagreed about MPs responding to non constituents, this from the "open Rights Group" which promotes access to parliament:
Don't write to other MPs, only to your own. MPs aren't required even to read letters from non-constituents and some MPs can get quite uppity about it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Am I stating the obvious? who knows?
When looking for MoTs next home, please bear in mind that the twins will be moving to secondary school soon and will need to be able to get to school easily.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Viktory, I have read through your post a few times and feel compelled to reply...
As was pointed out on the other thread, were MOT a drug addict, an alcoholic, an ex-con, of different ethnicity, an asylum seeker... the list goes on, but were she any of these things, there would be far more help available to her now. As she is none of these, she has to face the wrath of a disinterested council willing to condemn a mother and her two children to the streets... And we call ourselves a first world country?
I for one found this very distasteful.... it implies that all these people have a lesser right to housing than other people:
-alcoholics and drug addicts need stable housing to sort themselves out, is being an alcoholic a worse vice than a debtor?
- ex-cons have served their sentence and stable housing can be important in keeping them on the straight and narrow
- different ethnicity, so if you are born in this country, pay taxes you should go to the back of the queue if you are black or irish or jewish?????
- an asylum seeker, seen your family mutilated, raped and tortured? No compassion here then (some of them are genuine)....
I can't believe 17 people thanked this post.
There just isn't enough housing in the country to go round and so there are some strict guidelines in place councils have to operate under and are scrutinised under.0 -
I don't post much but have followed this from the start. Is'nt all this getting a bit 'political' ? Surely the point of this thread is to support MOT not to nit pick about each others opinions ( which we are all entitled to).0
