ok so i sent my letter special delivery on the 17th of july asking for my bank statements.so i was expecting them on the end of the month but they insist it was put on the system on the 1st of august so that is when they have 40 days from.
    my question is ..
what day does the 40days start from? when they recieve the letter and its signed for or when they can be bothered to put it on the system?

If you have the special delivery reciept go to the royal mail website and do a trace to check when it was signed for and use that date or if you want to be generous add two days and calculate the 40 days from then.

Of course it is worth it, you don't know yet whether the stay will be granted or not. There are also a few arguments on this forum on how to request a stay to be lifted, should it come to it.

    Hi everyone

I am supposed to go to court on the 5th Sept, I am 80% through my court bundle preparation ready to post on Monday, and this morning I had the depressing letter from DG Solicitors saying they will be requesting a stay. What a pain.

Is it worth me carrying on working on the court bundle? I am struggling with the thing anyway and am feeling more and more out of my depth.

    Thanks everyone

I concur with Beate one person on this board went to court the bank did not turn up and amongst other reasons for giving judgemnt for her was the fact that she had obviously gone to a lot of work on her bundle.

  • Can anyone tell me if it is legal to charge 25.00 every time you are over drawn? Can anyone tell me if these are legal charges as HSBC said in writng that I could have an over draft and confirmed the amount and that it was being prosessed, but never put it on and now refuse to let me have an overdraft? They have taken 150.00 without warning once again out of my bank account today. This is for 29th July up to today 20th August, not even a whole month. Also as they have now put me over drawn, legally can they charge for this as they normally do?

I am sick to death of HSBC getting rich quick out of me.
Any one that knows the legalities of this please get in touch as HSBC is constantly making my life a financial ruin
  • Could some one please please please advise me.
HSBC have just taken without warning another 150.00 from my bank account. They have charged 25.00 for everytime I have gone over drawn from 29th July up to today, 20th August, not even a month.
    25.00 X 6 charges = 150.00 is this legal?

Also they agreed in writing that to help me out due to my circumstances I could have an over draft of 1000,00 I requested just 500.00. The over draft has never been placed on my account and now they are refusing to let me have the over draft! Is this legal?

HSBC have also now made my account over drawn again due to their own charges, can they charge me for being over drawn when its down to them?

I am sick to death of hsbc getting rich out of me. I cant now get any money from my account until some more gets paid into it!

Please some one legally advise me.

I'm just about to embark on this after having a last straw moment with charges.

Asking for my last 6 years in statements for my joint account. Also, I have had a sole account previously with them. Its closed, but should they be able to provide the statements for that?

The main beef of my charges would be with TSB, but a bit scared to take them on incase my main accounts get scuppered. My HSBC ones aren't used and are empty!

Just a tip - if you have HSBC internet banking, you can download all your statements of the last 6 years quickly and for free from there.

Meh, you can view month by month, but I can't see a bulk download function.
Plus it keeps crashing to !!!!!!y... cunning way to stop people doing this? Heh.
