  • Thanks for that. You reckon I'll get any joy from doing it?
You'll get none if you don't ask ;)

    Hi all,
I've made my hardship claim, where I filled in the I&E form without being asked to. I also included a photocopy of the letter saying I would be getting JSA.

HSBC tried calling me on friday, but I didnt pick up as I want everything to be on written record. They sent me a letter saying I should contact them within 30 days otherwise I will have to wait until the outcome of the test case. What's the next move? :)

  • I have been with HSBC since 2000, but due to various reasons, I decided to open an account with Santander...

I currently have an overdrawn balance of £350.00 on my account of which is £250.00 is charges.... I am writing to them today to say that they have had more than enough money from me in the last 5 years or so, and I am not prepared to pay the £250.00.. If I do, I will end up paying £1125.00 in 12 months.. what are my chances of them agreeing to this... letter is typed, but not printed...

I think your chances are zero based on that argument.

Is there a way I could phrase it better?

    Hmmm!
I'm so confused as to whether I can claim or not now!

  • Hi,

Has anyone been successful in claiming back debit interest charges from HSBC? I stopped using my account once i got into my overdraft and maxed it out at university. I was paying in what i could to clear it which was about £20 a week once i started working but the interest charges kept clesaring out every bit of money i put into my account. I have statements going back to 2008 where HSBC debit interest charges just kept bringing me further and further into my o/d when i was trying to clear it. Do i stand a chance of claiming this back? I have finally got out of my o/d but that's because i got a better paid job and was able to clear it.
    Any advice i would appreciate.

    thanks
