Hmm I've just been doing my tot up over the 4 years ive had my account looking at what hsbc have charged and i have a couple questions.
How did you run the account, poor, good?
Did you bounce cheques and Direct Debits etc? What is a fine for an UNPAID ITEM
Bounced cheque, Direct Debit etcEven so my total money owed including those two is a mere £120
What do you think?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I dont think so, I was over drawn alot but within my OD limit except for a couple of times. It was when i was studying so it was a difficult finantial time, but i put all my loan and earnings in there....I dont really understand what you're saying. This thread is about unfair charges right? I.e. money the bank took from me unfairly. Therefore, my money.Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0

and you get caught off the copper's, you will get a fine; ergo you do not do it again.
Do you understand what I am trying to explain to you sir?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. What I am trying get across to you is that if have managed your account poorly and you have been fined it is YOUR fault, say for example you drive your car at 60MPH in a 30MPH zone
and you get caught off the copper's, you will get a fine; ergo you do not do it again.

Proliant - There is a big difference between paying a fine/penalty for speeding to the CROWN and paying a fine/penalty to a CORPORATION. Can you spot the difference?
I see from your profile you are 28 and in IT. Are you in IT for a bank, per chance?0 -

I am not sticking up for the banks here, all I am trying to get across is that if you mess up you should pay the fine and not do it again, most banks will let you off the first couple of times anyway - a gesture of good will they call it, say people are clearly !!!!!!! up over and over, so people clearly do not learn.

Does anyone know if the charges can be recovered from a personal business account? I was a sole trader and was charged over £300 in 2 months for going over overdraft, purely due to unpaid item fees. Have written to HSBc and they are unwilling to pay anything.0

Basically, you can claim the £120 back, but with all cases at the moment, you will have to write a letter and get the standard letter back from HSBC saying it is in court awaiting judgement... so you will not receive any payout till this is settled, and now as they are applying to House of Lords that will be some time.
I would advise to claim, as most of it is unfair charges. Don't listen to Proliant... If he feels like that, what is he doing replying to posts on this forum?0 -
i havent been on here for sooo long id almost forgot i was reclaiming!! i have heard nothing at all since 9/6/08!! im assuming im still playing the waiting game? my case is with the delightful HSBC, and was originally filed in april 07, i am not in a hardship case albeit that doesnt mean i would not like my money some time this century, should i continue very very patiently waiting (to the point of almost forgetting) or should i be chasing this up in anyway. sorry if the question has been asked previously. i am very grateful for any response0
