You have 8 weeks to accept an offer and as you have accepted an offer within the timescale then they must honour it.
  • My dad has this problem with Lloyds and in the end I phoned them and told them they had to pay the offer was made before the test case was even heard of and they transferred the money into his account yesterday and that was £729. I would phone them or go into to see them and tell them that a postal strike is not your fault and that the letter was returned on time and they must honour the agreement with you.

    Good luck

May I suggest telling them that if they do not pay you within 14 days youwill sue them on the agreement.
As I am not the Pope or legally qualified I may be wrong so feel free to get a second opinion from a qualified person

    I'm in same position JollyG'sWife....
          .....I could go on
I got an offer signed it and delivered it via the local branch, checked with HSBC and it was scanned on to their system on the 30 th July.

I rang a couple of days ago to check the progress and the stupid person on phone said that I should receive another letter giving me the choice to accept or wait for final outcome , obviously I was fuming and shouting my head off at the poor girl, she said they have to do that on the advise of the FOS or whatever they are called, is this true, do they by law have to send the 2nd letter out. I was due the payment this coming monday/tuesday and all my plans have gone to ashes, so I'm still waiting for this letter and the wait goes on.

Is there anyone that has complained about this with any luck?

Just wanna get it straight in my head...

my 8 weeks of waiting is up next Monday...but now i won't hear anything and can't have any money till this court case has gone through which could take upto a year?

    hi

a year seems to be the minimum guess. depending on how old your charges are the only way to stop them being statute bared is to start court action (6 years limit hasnt changed) court cases are being stayed in some courts and not in others so as you can see from the posts there is still no clear answer just now.

    good luck

  • Good news..Got a letter from HSBC with a goodwill offer..The say they don't agree with that there charges are any way unfair but offerd me £1490, I claimed for £1900. £400 off the asking price but with this stuff in the courts you can never be sure.

    Hi
I read somewhere that the maximum a bank could charge you in one month was £125. Could some one tell me if this is right or not?
    thanks
