    Hello,

HSBC are represented by DG Solicitors (or they were in my case).

I haven't got the address on me (somewhere in Edgbaston??), but if you phone 0121 455 2701, an answering machine reads it out to you.

You should also be able to send it via HSBC head office which is on their website, but probably better to use the one above.

Is it not on the offer letter???

  • Hey Everyone!!

    It's day 13 and £1733.58 has been credited to my account!!! :j :T

    I can't believe it!!!!!:j :j :j

Within minutes of logging into the bank and finding it, I ordered two new sofas that I've been drooling over for weeks and they'll be here next Thursday which, coincidentally, is the day before my next lot of charges are due to be paid in!!!:T :T :T

Gonna go and celebrate now with a cup of coffee - the kids think I'm mad jumping around the place shouting YIPEEEEEE!!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Will be in touch again later when I've come down off the ceiling!!!!

    Well done:j

Thats excellent news, expect you ll be walking round with huge grin on your face all day. Congratualtions!!!

Good luck for next week with your other claim. Talk about good timing for you, still feel so sorry for all those that were so close.

Not sure what to do I`m into the 9th week now ive tried emailing and even spoke to someone the other day they said they would send another copy, but im just being impatient.

Sorry that`s my rant over with now!

But i`m really chuffed for you you can get those sofas now and spend spend spend.

    Hiya Combusters!
Well, I must say that's just how I felt - gutted - when i found out that all claims were to be put on hold, I was on hols & found out & must admit i cried and was totally shell shocked, it spoilt the rest of my holiday! My hubby was a bit more ok about it, but as he said i'd been going thru all this, not him, he thought we'd have no chance (we've never had much luck!). I thought once again, I'd missed the boat, another knock back.
Anyway, we came back early from hols, and opened the letter from the FO expecting the "Due to recent developments, your claim has been put on hold, until the test case etc etc"....................Only to open it to say the bank don't believe their charges are unfair, blah blah, but will pay me what I'd asked for £9922 :T  I ran down the path to hubby screaming shouting & dancing, I couldn't believe how lucky I was!

I feel so emotional now, ok, once the bank has the acceptance letter ( which I immediately posted special delivery, next day, but bloomin posties are on strike!) it'll take up to 6 wks to be paid out, but really after thinking all was over, I can cope with that! 6 wks of Combusting!! :rotfl:

I was given until the 7th Aug to accept, so fingers crossed.

Even tho I'm obviously really happy, I still can't help feeling really sorry for those that will not be paid out, cos I felt like S@@@!

Thanks to all on here, giving me encouragement, especially Lou, Sam and newer ones, amelia, Jollygiantswife & everyone else - This is like a Oscar speech!! But honestly has kept me going, Edingburah lass on here aswell helps so many  Cheers to ya Good Girl. Martin - Top Bloke - if it wasn't for him when I saw him on tele, I wouldn't have done anything :money:

I shall stay in contact whilst Combusting:o and beyond

I couldn t believe it when i read your post (few swear words) i was so thinking of you when the news the broke out and i thought how you must be feeling bein on hols and this breakng out.

How lucky was you:beer: just in the nick of time so many others who have spoken to hsbc etc have been told "no offer received then all on hold" you msut have timed that just right, imagine if it was one week later that you had sent letter of  it wouldn t have been the same outcome.

Poor Sam was just days away from her second claim, they had even said a week before the outcome that they would be sorting out an offer.

Anyway nice to have you back, its all so different on this site now, things have changed. Hope you had a good holiday now you can plan your next one to visit your sister. Im so so so happy for you:T .

I shall await patiently for my Vodka in post. :rotfl:

    Hi Guys!

Would like your opinion on this as I am desparate...is this a good idea or am I peeing into the wind.

I have drafted of a letter to HSBC - I am half way through the 8 weeks duration where they investigate my claim. i understand that things are on stop at the moment regards to the claims for fees but I am going to try my luck. A friend of mine has had her fees back this and she started claiming a week after I did so nothing ventured...The letter is along the lines of.
    (condensed version)
Please note my claim <details etc>.

I read with interest the current situation regarding the reclaiming of bank charges and the impending test case...(big bit about OFT & FSA) how everything is on stop and not likey to be reviewed until after the test case has gone through... (Big bit about Master of the Rolls instructing each circuit judge not to necessarily freeze each case but judge it on its own merit - would HSBC be willing to do the same to preserve good customer relations) My current claim is £XXXX including interest. I assume additional interest is going to be accrued during the duration of the case bring my total cliam to an estimated £XXXX. I submitted my claim on XXX and am inquiring as to whether any decision on a refund has yet to be made during this time.....In light of my current finacial situation (I am skint and they know it) I would welcome any reasonable offer however I also wish to secure my interests by logging my claim with the small courts to insure process of my claim. I would hope it to be in both our best interest to reach a prompt and amicable arrangement (crawl, snivel, clutch at straws) and would welcome your reply within the next two weeks. I wish to submit my claim to the small claims court after this time.

I know this is snivelling of the highest order but I am skint ad willing to give it a try anyway. Like I said an I wasting my time, living in hopes, clutching at straws etc etc.

Has anyone else done this or am I the only loon on tonight.

    Thanks for your time.
