Just to let you all know that as this thread has reach 4222 posts I'm going to move out the last 222 posts and start a new thread with them which should help with the loading up of this thread!

The old thread will be closed but will still be linked to and accessible to read.

    Thanks suexbee,

I did post an update later yesterday to admit to my almost (very) foolish mistake of throwing away my offer letter which had become entangled with some junk mail!!

I have now sent the reply back via special delivery so just hoping it arrives there in time!

Thanks for your advice though! How is your claim going?

Hi, Sorry, I read your post just after I replied!
I'm afraid with my claim, I started in early March and have gone the MCOL route. Transferred to my local court and has been there since 9 June. Heard nothing since! Keep ringing the court, but they are so snowed under and judges are issuing notice of directions. Basically means that it gives HSBC aq bit longer to payup!
Nevermind tho, trying to keep chilled and put it to the back of my mind so one day will get a nice surprise!
Claimed from Barclays at same time and they paid in full + interest + charges and settled a month ago!
    Blimin hate HSBC!

Just a quickie...... has anyone tried faxing to accept a non-court offer acceptance letter to HSBC. Sent my acceptance letter in post today, but kept a copy. Just wondering whether it would be worth faxing it too....could it actually speed things up????

Think it's worth a try! What harm can it do??
I got barclays to fax my offer and I faxed it back immediately, then they paid me the next day! (but that was barclays!!)

    Good luck!

Arghhhhhhhhh day 10 and no money yet!

Never mind, another 4 days and I'll have a healthy bank balance
  • Only on day 7 here and already about to self combust!!!

Got hubby to phone them yesterday but after being in a queue for 45 mins he got the standard response "it can take up to 14 days"

We really could do with the money at this point in the month

Oh well just another 7 days of checking the online banking......ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

I claimed with halifax in jan 07, after just 4 weeks it was done and dusted. They even phoned me to chat and explain what was going to happen etc( as i am on incapacity benefit they cant touch my money as its a state benefit) they got the letter sent back special delivery and 2 days later the money was put in my acct. CASH no less, it was nice and quick, unlike stupid HSBC.

Has anyone had the money put in during the day or am i wasting my time checking during the day?

I'm pretty certain standard procedure is for the money to appear at midnight in your account. I think they are all loaded onto the system during the day, then are set to activate the next day (12:01am)

Go get some sleep, fingers crossed you'll have your money soon. (mine appeared on day 12)
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you

Hi there- been trying to find relevant thread but here I am. I've basically been on the hubt with both letters and after 8 weeks have received a goodwill offer of £410 for a claim of £900, less than half. I would have replied taking the money but stating I am claiming the rest- but sneaky sneaky they have attached a form where I sign to accept the offer which also signs to say I won't be pursuing the rest or any any other claims.

I am about to move out and desperately need any money just to live (food and rent) in the coming weeks.
Shall I take this offer by returning the signed form (how long until payment??), or hold out, grit my teeth and hope I can salvage the rest by sending a seperate letter stating my intentions to dig my heels in  Help! Ben.

Hi there- been trying to find relevant thread but here I am, going solo for now.
I've basically been on the hunt for HSBCs payment with both letters, and after 8 weeks have received a goodwill offer of a measly £410 for a claim of £900. I could reply taking the money yet stating I am claiming the rest- but sneaky sneaky they have attached a form where I have to sign to accept the offer which also states I won't be pursuing the rest or any any other claims.

I am about to move out and desperately need any money just to live (food and rent) in the coming weeks. Want to send out a reply today!
Shall I take this offer by returning the signed form (how long until payment??), or hold out, grit my teeth and hope I can salvage the rest by sending a seperate letter taking the offer without signing anything  Help! Ben.

    Hi Ben

Firstly was that £900including interest? I f so then you would only be entitled to that if you went to court, if not then that dosen t seem to be a very good offer of the top of my head.

You can decline and get them to re evaluate your claim which again will take a couple of weeks or you can accept.

Once they have received your letter back accepting offer they will take upto 14days to credit account.

If i was you i would give them a ring today and just have a chat with them as to why the offer is so low.

    Good luck

    Lou x:D
