just read all this about compliants being suspended. Where does this leave me, due in court on 14th August 2007, and the "8 Weeks" settlement is due on Monday (with HSBC), so will my case now be put on hold? and if so, what about informing the courts? rewcliming court fees etc?

    has anybody got any suggestions.

I ve just read it, filled in the comments box at end. Wonder how long this will all take to get sorted, sure i heard somewhere at the end of the year.

bet there are a few very !!!!ed off people who are waiting:mad:

Are you going to ring them

    lou x

    I am very !!!!ed off!!

According to HSCB my claim is 8 weeks old on Tuesday 31st July. Just phoned them and they told me that my as it is under the 8 weeks it has been frozen until the court makes a decision about claims and charges etc. Asked how long this is likely to be and she said at the most a year

I am really really really !!!!ed off especially as I had rang on Monday and was told my claim would be passed to a supervisor for an offer to be prepared. I asked her if they were freezing the claims were they also freezing the charges until the court decides what is right??!!! But oh no of course not! She just told me not to go overdrawn and I wont incur charges!! How insightful of her!! My blood is boiling and I am back to combusting stage after having a calm week!!!

My first letter to them was dated 30 May (over 8 weeks ago!) so I am going to send them an email and try appealing over that! Dont hold out much hope but anything is worth a try!

    Hi

It's very quiet here tonight, have you all gone out to drown your sorrows?!:rotfl:

I can't believe all the claims have been frozen, pity they're not freezing the charges in the meantime too!

Anyone any idea how long this is really going to take to get sorted?

I can't believe it, I'm just glad I got one claim out of the way. Poor Trace, she's been through so much already! She's probably heard about it and is dying to get online and see what is going on here! Have you heard anything about how long this is all going to take?x

At least thats something but it was the smaller of the two, and you were so needing this second one, so close to getting there and then this, bet they are getting some abusive telephone calls at mo. Heard on here earlier some people were getting payouts during the day today, no more waiting til there 14 days were up, think they must be clearing all the payouts in one swoop regardless.

I ve no ideal keep reading different time scales on how long it will all take, have to wait til Martin knows more.

And they are still going to charge full amount of charges then, UNBELIEVABLE:mad:

I am still in shock! Sent an email pleading my case about my letter being over 8 weeks old and that they told me on Monday I was going to receive an offer but I don't hold out much hope  Still, likeI said it was worth a try.

It's not knowing how long and what the outcome will be that is the worst thing, worse than waiting the 14 days!! At least we knew the money was on its way!

You're right about me needing that money, looks like I will be visiting the launderette for many weeks to come :(

All I can do is hope that the outcome is favourable to us claimers! I can't imagine the courts will rule in favour of the banks making the charges that they do. If anything I think they may rule on a smaller charge and agree the differences between that and the original charges must be refunded. What do you think?

  • OMG where have I been all day?? I've only just heard about this test case lark.... Tillybella I am so sorry that your 2nd claim has been frozen you must be gutted!

I am so relieved that my acceptance letter would've been received by HSBC this morning - surely they can't back track once an offer has been made? I bloody hope not!!!

Let's keep eachother posted - keep chins up, I'm sure it'll all be ok, and bank charges from now on will be vastly reduced......

I think exactly the same as you, they will come to an amount which is more acceptable, and refunds will be made on that basis. We knew that one day it would have to be lowered but the way they have gone about it secretly has left alot of people in the dark. I know they are honouring people that they have made an offer to, but surely the people that have written and are in the process of waiting the eight weeks or any other claim that has been governed by the time limits should still be dealt with. Just all new claims as off midnight last night would have to wait. I m no expert (far from it) but they should still be dealng with claims that have been in the pipeline for days going into months before freezing them.

    Hope that makes sense
