I am trying to get through to D and G solicitors. The phone is constantly on voicemail. Could someone please give me a number for them, that they have managed to speak to someone on.

Has anyone out there claimed from the same account more than once, if so was your account closed?

    Thanks

Are you going to phone again today? When I phoned the day before I got my money they were actually able to tell me my acceptance had been processed. Can't believe you've actually gone the full 14 days, mine was 13 days and I thought that was bad enough!!

Well you should get it tonight for definite!

    Hi,

I sent a claim to HSBC for £318 inc interst and today have received an offer of just £122.

I really cant be bothered with taking this to court, however it also seems crazy to accept their 1st offer, especially as so low.

Although the letter is from a named person, the only telephone number is the generic 0845 one which goes thru to a foreign call centre.

Does anyone know of a number I can call, and any tips on what I should say.

    Thanks

    Hi Lou

I'm not bad ta, tired tho cuz i've had a pretty hectic weekend. Don't have time to hang on the phone to Leeds today so I have sent an email through online banking saying my claim is 7 weeks old(tomorrow actually) and could they tell me when I will get an offer letter. I pointed out that I realise they are allowed 8 weeks but that I had an offer at the 7 week mark with my previous claim. I imagine I will just get the standard 'we are allowed 8 weeks blah blah' email back. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Are you going to ring them at all today and check that your acceptance has been processed?

    Good evening all,

I have been thinking about this a lot.

I originally got into trouble with HSBC, racking up overdraft and credit card charges, when I was a lot younger.

They only way I could deal with the debt was to accept their Managed Loan offer. The original loan amount was £2700, and by the time I have finished paying it off in 5 years I will have paid nearly £4000. The other option would have been debt collection.

    Since the loan was nearly as much as the total charges they had taken from my account over the years, could it be argued that;

    1. The vast majority of the total loan amount was actually charges they had given me. Without which, I would have been able to personally manage the debt.
    2. They have profited from the original charges, by selling me a Managed Loan, which is 9.9% above base rate and significantly higher than a standard product.
    3. As I am (hopefully) about to win my claim of charges against them, they have profited from a crime against me, which they have been found guilty of.

If so, do you think I could somehow make a claim for this, once my original claim for charges refund is settled

You don't say how much of the £318 is charges and how much in interest, however £122 does seem quite low. You are only entitled to the interest if it is awarded in court by a judge. HSBC will not pay this to you any other way. I'd obviously work out what % HSBC had offered you from your charges amount and see if you think its reasonable. The standard seems to be around 85%

Also the call centre number on all correspondance to do with these claims is for the centre in Leeds, rather than one abroad. You should ring the customer service centre on 08456 028006. You could try to haggle over the phone, but they will prob ask you to send them a letter for them to consider.

    Good luck
