    Good evening all,

I received a letter from the court yesterday, which I wanted to share with all of you.

I guess this is good news?

So, the court is throwing out the defence from HSBC, as they have yet to defend any other case.

I assume it is now just a case of waiting another 14 days.

I have had no contact from HSBC or SG Solicitors since I started this claim. I wonder how quickly they will re-pay me should the case be decided in my favour?

    Hi Squeaky

Not been down the court route so not sure what that means but a far as I know once they decide to pay out it is 14 days waiting time. It may be sooner for court claims but either way it looks like your money is on the way :j

    Hi Squeaky,
That's the kind of letter I've been waiting for! I sent my first letter beginning of march, went MCOL route and heard nothing since because of the backlog at the court!
My claim was transfered to the local court on 9 june, and they still haven't contacted me! When did yours get transfered to your court?
    Sue.

    Good morning Sue,

I first sent my initial requests to HSBC at the beginning of March.

I filed my MCOL claim on 10/04/2007, which was defended on the 25th day.

The claim was then transfered to my local court, but was recently stayed for 28 days to give both parties time to settle.

I have have had no contact from either HSBC or SG Solicitors since their initial defence.

I am a little worried that even if the case is found in my favour, they will take an age to pay out.

Has anyone any experience of how quickly HSBC have been paying out if the case actually goes to court and is won by the claimant, or the defence is thrown out?

    Hi Squeaky,

I am around the same timeline as you with my claim, but although court says it is waiting for the judge to issue directions, I still haven't heard from them!

As far as how long they take to pay up, I have no idea. Most people on this thread have taken the 8 week route.

Also, I've noticed that from reading all success stories from different banks, most seem to pay up the whole lot after a struggle, but HSBC success stories mostly seem to be partial settlements. To me, it looks as though the only way to get whole amount is sit it out til the last hour through the courts.

I made a claim on barclays at the same time as HSBC and that was paid in full with interest + court fees last month (easy as anything). HSBC is completely dfferent!

Good luck with your claim, it sounds like you're on the final stretch now anyway,
    Sue.

Has anyone on here claimed from the same account at HSBC more than once? If so, was your account closed?
