Yes, I'd seen that but I then saw the below note relating to those wanting to change to the Unlimited Weekend Plan:2. Available to eligible residential BT Together Option 1 (‘Unlimited Weekend Plan’ from 1st April) customers who make at least one chargeable call a month with BT. BT reserves the right to move customers from the BT Together Option 1 (‘Unlimited Weekend Plan’ from 1st April 2008) to the Line Rental Plan if they make less than one chargeable call a month.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I am the same as Heinz untill it is tried and tested. In any case, what on earth is 'the Line Rental Plan'?
Must be a hidden plan that they have not told anyone of, making it up as they go along.0 -
By my dodgy maths that is an increase of nearly 2100% in the cost of an hour long evening call!! How can they be allowed to get away with that?
I expect all the other companies to follow suit, for 'ease of comparison' purposes of course..........:rolleyes:0 -
Checked my BT online account, it confirms I am now on the free weekend call Option 1 package.
Has anyone succeeded in moving to free evening and weekend call package (12 month contract) ?
Option not available on online account call package options.
Signup page not operational ("Sorry, we don’t recognise your details")
Tried phoning and gave up waiting for customer service
Tried email, receipt received ("We apologise in advance for any delay"), no reply to date.
Anyone managed to move to this package ?0 -

Looks like you need to make one chargable call to get the free weekend rates.0 -
Can I ask a bit of a dumb question?
I'm currently in a 12 month contract with BT (new phone line) - can I change to a CPS company (e.g. Primus) without incurring cancellation charges from BT?
And is there an easy way to make sure that a provider such as 18185 is used for all calls without dialling it or changing stored phone number entries?
Cheers!0 -

Yes, get an Orchid. A suggested program for one is HERE.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Just a reminder that with Primus Saver opt 2 you get free 01/02 calls up to 8am weekdays rather than BTs 6am.
Thanks to Heinz for this. See link in his signature.

Plus you get 90 minutes of inclusive geographical calls instead of 60 with BT. Then theirs Primus Free Penny Mobile Option which caps mobile calls to 20p for 20 minutes. All for a no strings attached agreement. No rolling contract with them.:T0
